Take good care of yourself, Mom. We look forward to your return and we miss your stories. :-)

Oh you're still setting up your mining jaunt? Good for you.. Don't go peeking into any holes where you don't belong now..
I guess the food wrestling went ok.. Al said the stew was very good.. Later we will test the Apple Pie. The Granny Smiths were very hard and tart, so I hope I put enough sugar in. I don't like it too sweet, and I left out the lemon..
Meatloaf.... we loooove meatloaf.. How possessed was it?

Hopefully I will manage to get here. As long as the cable behaves. I won't have aol for a backup anymore.. So when I'm down, I will be down..and that scares me.. ;(

Well, I guess I'd better eat, before it's time to go to bed.. Will check in afterwards, and see if anyone's about..
To: grannie9
Yeah that scares me too. Smoke signals won't work... :-(

Sounds like a plan...it's time to go find dinner. If I don't catch you all later I'll see you in the AM. ;-)

Weeeelll, when it was stabbed with a fork, it somewhat exploded and oozed meatloaf goo allover, then it floated from the platter in an apparent attempt to escape. That, and it pulsed funny like it had bad gas.
But that's because it had pockets inside it that didn't make it react to well with being cooked. (I am not a very good cook.)(Well, at least not anymore.)
The coppermines area is full of holes of all kinds. You just need to know when to lay doggo. (Get REEeeeal quiet and still.)
But the place is rather fun to scout out. After the mines shutdown, it became a boyscout camp. (Camp Pahaquarra.) Then the government passed the flood control act of 1955... and the "Tocks Island flood control Dam" project was born. It was a politicians pork project brain fart to start, and it only got worse. The government strong-armed people out of their homes under imminent domain and other less legal tactics. (One guy went to work from his own front door, came home to a pile of bulldozed rubble.)
This kind of garbage went on until 1979 when the project was finally official dead. But the property siezure was attempted until about 1995. (The Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area operated as a park from 1979 until 1989. In 1989, it was finally declared a park. Doesn't that seem odd?) Nice little tale of futility and stupidity. There's other, less amusing tales to be told about it. like the guy whose farm became government property on midnight of a certain date. The day before he lost his property, he torched the farm. They tried to get him for destruction of governemnt property. But since it was still his, the only thing they could really go for was arson. I'm still surprised that it was all as quiet as it was.

Could funkle here too, I bet...

I'm taking deep breaths and carrying on. I don't know if they can ever catch this maniac. He seems to like this area and he's not moving on.

This quarter depicts the frazzled nerve endings of the neurotic Nutmegger.
For whatever reason this sentence cracked me up way too early in the day - thanks for the link AC.
A tremendous Tuesday to all who pass through the DD.
