I prefer to think of this as helping the student in question.

(Actually, this is a general reply, not directed at Cold Heat) I didn't hear Hannity's show yesterday, so I can't speak to the fact of whether or not he intended to insult every Freeper. I will say, however, that this site is very respected on other conservative message boards I've been on. I believe there are a lot of us who log on here because we know we'll get the low-down on what's going on in politics as well as major news stories. I for one don't post much because I learn more by reading. I am a conservative. For the most part, I agree with the Freeper view of politics. I have read a few posts that were very "fringe", but that's the exception.

With all due respect, I think some of the comments regarding Hannity are rather grade school like and this thread actually caught me off guard. Well, if nothing else, at least now I know you all are human and not just political machines!

Now get back to the business of keeping us silent conservatives informed :)

Thanks!

"Ya can't prevent people from expressing anger over it,"

And is Hannity accorded the same to express his anger....to hold him blameless?

To excuse some here for their anger yet not excuse Sean for apparently the same cause of anger.....well, seems one sided?

He made a global attack on FR the other day, and as I said, I defended him strongly on threads.

People claimed he was weak in style, but I think the last couple of days shows he is weak on substance.

Like I said, look for about at least a 10% rating slip for all thinks Hannity and this may start a further dipping trend.

Just my opinion S., he did permanent damage to himself the last two days.

I don't understand his remarks. I visit FR almost everyday and I don't know what he's talking about. I don't notice anyone bashing Hannity.

This student needs support, no doubt.

I couldn’t help thinking that even my Palestinian high school teachers had never tried to silence me or put me in therapy.

Sounds more like the old Soviet Union to me.

I can't help but notice that you are stepping all over the place, trying to justify what he said.

the fact is, that he tied it to HIS web forum and said that it was better there and that FR eats it's own.

Well, that ain't Kosher, but he can do what he likes to get membership. We are not a fee based operation and depend solely on donations. We are not for profit, and he is a for profit organization.

As I said, he can do as he likes, and so can I.

Ya did not read my last. I said I did not approve of some of the comments made in anger, but that I nor anyone else can stop that. We are free to express certain sentiments. I did not lash out like some did, but those posts were a minority of the whole, as per usual.

"Hannity asks Freepers for help..."

I took it to mean for the student....not for Sean?

I smell a rat.

When I read the assignment I remembered back to my high school in Kuwait. Many of my teachers were Palestinian;

For one, the Kuwaiti's took a dim view of those who sided w/ Saddam Hussein in the Gulf War...and that included the PLO and Palestinians. This, according to the Jordan Times:

For the past 10 years, Kuwait has hired teachers for its public schools from Egypt and Syria — both countries sided with Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion of the emirate.... Kuwait relied heavily on Jordanian and Palestinian teachers during the 1970s and 1980s, but following the Gulf war, most of these teachers were forbidden from returning to their jobs.

Link

And, for another: Most of all we remember our one-week-old baby cousin who died while the Iraqi invaders were stealing incubators from hospitals to sell them for profit.

I don't think this was ever proven & there is some evidence that it was a hoax.

Color me skeptical.

LOL! What kinda IQ do you think I have?

I know that!

I stated, and quite clearly that I want nothing to do with Shaun Hannity in the future.

I have all the info I need to help this student and was aware of it on the 25th I believe.

I was making a point that was apparently too subtle for you.

I heard it, it was an explanation, not an apology.

Sean has several times made disparaging comment s about us, and I just brushed it off, but yesterday, when he made the comments he no longer comes here and THEN promotes his own website, promoting HIS website by slamming us, that is hypocrisy.

I listened to his show everyday regardless of what he said previously that was negative about us, but, Today I only listened to hear what he would say about FR.

He had on someone named Mike who sounded like HE was apologizing for FR to Sean...when it is Sean who owes us an apology.

It is Freepers who promoted FOX news, not Sean's listening audience, it is US who got people to watch, listen, and write to our cable companies to put FOX news on the cable systems of our towns. It was FREEPES who were the FOX Fanatics FIRST, we are the ones who posted fliers even in places telling people to watch FOX news, remember one thread on that? People actually went around and told people to watch FOX NEWS! FREEPERS did that...Kooks according to Sean, though.

Sean has had MANY of his shows recapped here with comments from guests, pictures from his show, Sean was congratulated innumerable times, his defense of our country, our President, and our Military, and yet, he chooses to dis us openly and say that we have become a bunch of kooks?

Well, then it was kooks who defended him, Kooks who recapped his shows, kooks who posted quotes from him, his guests on his show, and bought his books...

I only had 1 major thing against Sean, and that was his and Limbaugh's abandonment of their mantra RULE OF LAW as soon as Bush got the Primary Nod, they stopped calling for Clinton to be prosecuted, and instead said all of us who wanted THE RULE OF LAW to succeed were extremists, and it was Hannity and Limbaugh who taught us the phrase!!

Well, that's gone, all the negatives that I just kept to myself are out now, Hannity is just a Limbaugh wanna-Be who only repeats Limbaugh's talking point s and tries to call it his own research, when the reality is he and the rest of the media get a great majority of their news from FR themselves!

Sean Hannity, you just trashed your base, and then you had the nerve to tell us that we trashed you???

WE WERE THE ONES WHO BROUGHT YOU UP FROM NOTHING!!!

And to make the claim that he got angry when TRIXIE took off?? TRIXIE slammed JimRob with the most vile insults repeatedly, online and in print in magazines if I remember correctly, while JimRob was nothign but quiet and a gentleman in return. Also, TRIXIE's site banned almost all of us right away as soon as we posted something similar to what we did here, so for Sean to claim some moral high ground based on Lucianne Goldberg, he must not know what happened back then, he only heard one side of the story.

As for Connie, I supported Keyes in the primary, too, I dont know what the real reason she left was, but she came back and joined in with us several times after she left, and never openly insulted any of us and openly enjoyed herself when we were all together. I wish her well, but once again, Sean only heard one side of the story!

I enjoyed listening to Sean Hannity last week, and I still enjoy him today. As a matter of fact, I just finished his "Let Freedom Ring" book this evening.

What he did yesterday was downright foolish. Foot-in-mouth disease. I have little doubt he regrets it, too.

First off, I didn't see any of these aforementioned broadcasts. That said,
The one thing written on on of the posts that stuck with me was that he hadn't "visited" this site in two years.
So if he hadn't, how in the heck would he know if we were fringe or not?
Keeping an open mind . . ..

There are many students who need help from the liberal establishment at colleges.

That is why Horowitz created Students for Academic Freedom, began the push for a academic bill of rights that is currently being circulated and some 20 or more schools now have it.

I am four square behind this, and my son is getting interested in the quest.

Visiting the site will inform you of the work done thus far and the things needed to be done. It is way more than a student web site, and has earned attention from the media. I guess Hannity has picked up the seriousness of it, but Horowitz is the man behind the plan. Not too shabby for about a years work.
