Sometimes big time media (even friendly ones) do things that make you scratch your head. Like when a well known Wall Steet Journal columnist just walks up and steals a blogger's spot thus bumping a blogger (whose credentials were hard fought for) right off their own machine - and NEVER ASKED permission...

TALK ABOUT BAD TASTE: I just don't get this...
John Fund highly respected Wall Street Journal columnist did the strangest thing today. He walked right into blogger's corner (he is not a credentialed blogger). He sat right down at a machine that wasn't his...it in fact belonged instead to Adam Doverspike of RedState.
He began typing away and when Adam returned - and in fact needed to return to his blogging duties was told by Fund:
"I'll only be a minute..."
20 minutes later, Adam gave up and left to go get something to drink...as of this typing - as you can see in the picture above - Fund was still using Doverspike's machine.
Never asked permission, never asked forgiveness...
You have to hand it to Adam Doverspike of RedState. The dignity he is showing this minute, at this rather remarkably rude turn of events, speaks loudly of Adam's character.
As to Mr. Fund's? That depends entirely as to how he handles it from here...

The swarm begins...
The Junkyard Blog - ...lock the computers.
Michelle Malkin - WSJ weird behavior towards bloggers...
Red State - Erickson to Doverspa's defense...
Confessions of a Political Junkie - bad taste...
The National Debate - raising money for Fund's much needed Blackberry...
LaShawn Barber - is trying to keep the peace (or get herself into the WSJ)
Cheese And Crackers - says Fund should get his own Blackberry...
Outside The Beltway - is calling it "Fund-quiddick"...
The Agitator - says it is a classic example of technological imperialism...
The American Mind - donated the first quarter to the BlackBerry...

Adam should send him/his paper a bill!
And Mr. Doverspike just walked away...why?
There is such a thing?
Sometimes you just gotta Freep....
It means he does not have blogger's credentials at CPAC.

Make that "elderly maiden aunt".
You need to chill out man.
If the only thing interesting you can find for your blog is pissing and moaning about someone using a vacant lap top for half an hour, perhaps you should have offered him yours?
On it's own merits, I would have ignored it, but it was even funnier because Coulter had sent me an earlier email complimenting me on that post.
If Kevin were a man, he'd apologize to Fund right here, now, on this thread.
Pushy journo barf alert...Fund should have had his own computer.
Kevin is given to the hysterical as shown here.
Check the Links to LeShawn and RedState. They don't have a problem.
I don't believe that apologizing to Fund for expecting the bare minimum of him (to keep his hands of things that don't belong to him) is what makes one a man.
Helping them realize its not good for them to keep touching things that don't belong to them is.
Fund also left the blogger's computer connected to the Wall Street Journal's servers which also just happen to be the servers for the DOW JONES.
Had the bloggers in bloggers corner not had decency and integrity the problems that John is facing tonight by a little bit of an embarrassing story - would PALE in comparison to the lawsuit that the WSJ could have tapped his butt for...
Note that he went for the Dell instead of the Powerbook.
That makes him WORSE!!!! LOL
Not smart... that's why he should have had his own computer and avoid security mishaps.
Would you think that the Wall Street Journal servers, are the same ones that make the Dow function?
I wouldn't.
I wouldn't think for a minute that the servers that journalists use - and can link to remotely - have anything to do with the servers used by the Dow index.
