WASHINGTON, March 23 /Christian Wire Service/ -- The 11th Hour Coalition to Save Terri Schiavo's Life will hold simultaneous press conferences -- Wednesday, March 23 -- at 12 noon in Washington, D.C., and Tallahassee, Fla.

This ad hoc partnership of religious and political organizations -- which will gather in front of the White House and the Florida governor's mansion -- will call on President George W. Bush and Gov. Jeb Bush to use their executive powers to protect Terri Schiavo from starvation.

"There are two people in the United States who can save Terri Schiavo's life right now. The president of the United States and the governor of Florida have the authority to use the police services at their disposal to take Terri into protective custody, restore her food and hydration, and arrest anyone who would interfere," said Dr. Paul Schenck, executive director of the National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill. "For the sake of Terri's life, we cannot afford to wait while the courts dither over jurisdiction."

Dr. Paul Schenck, National Pro-Life Action Center on Capitol Hill

Coalition Members appearing at the press conference:

-- Fr. Frank Pavone, Priests for Life

-- Stephen G. Peroutka, Esq., Face the Truth TV & Radio

-- Fr. Thomas Euteneuer, Human Life International

-- Michael A. Peroutka, Esq., Institute on the Constitution -- Rev. Greg Cox, Faith and Action

-- Rev. Stephen Cox, Gospel of Life Ministries

-- Rev. John Vandenberge, National Clergy Council

As I read this thread I am mindful how fortunate we are that those of us who condemn "mob rule" and opposition to unjust law, were not around when King George had lawful authority over us.

We have the power to elect representatives to establish our ideals through legislation. The way to change things is via the ballot box, not via executive fiat.

"He is watching and He is not silent." And I suppose you think you speak for Him?

No, His Word speaks for Him. His Word calls on us to care for widows (her former husband has basically left her as a widow) and to give a cup of cold water to the needy, rescue the perishing, stop the shedding of innocent blood, take care of the weak and sickly, on and on. He threatens with Judgment those nations that ignore these commands and especially those that do this by judicial decree.

Psalm 94:20,21: Can a throne of destruction be allied with Thee, One which devises mischief by decree? They band themselves together against the life of the righteous, And condemn the innocent to death.

What if Jeb Bush decides you are a bad parent and forcibly takes your children from you?

Man, where have you been? Jeb Bush and all 50 governors can do that now, if the departments under their control claim that you have committed an act that allows it. The only thing you can do is go to court to get them back.

The same situation would exist with Terri. He'd act pursuant to the police power to prevent murder, and then Michael Schiavo would have to sue to get her back in his control. There would be no change in the right of the state to act to protect their citizens. The only issue would be whether the state was correct to believe that a murder was taking place. And, in the course of that investigation, maybe some of the allegations about inadequate care and Terri's medical condition could be examined.

If Janet Reno can send in the storm troopers to deport an innocent little boy, why can't George Bush send them in to SAVE an innocent, disabled woman?

Reno was wrong in doing so. Bush would be equally wrong to do so.

Just great! It's not bad enough that we've got a rogue judiciary, you want to create a rogue executive as well.

Fidelity to their OATH of OFFICE enables executive action.

A president or governer may not act outside of the law.

Elian was an outrage, true, but because substantively, it was wrong to send Elian back to Cuba, and Clinton's use of the federal courts to accomplish it was part of an effort to please Castro, not done out of a desire to uphold fathers' rights. However, Clinton had a court order before he went in.

Wait until President Hillary decides that Health is a right by executive order.

Or that a child's "right" to a public education supercedes a parent's right to homeschool their children.

It is the Executive branch's job to enforce. The legislature can only pass things, the judicial branch can only render judgments, it is the executive that makes sure it happens.

Has Congress requested that this be done?

Didn't think so.

I'm talking about them taking action after the courts have cleared you. How about a mob of people who think they know better show up in Tallahassee and demand he take those children? That is what is being advocated. It's not smart.

Nope, I'm calling for the legislature (state and federal) to exercise their constitutional power real in an out of control Judicial Branch.

The constitutional means to do this is impeachment.

If the current crop of legislators won't do it, then elect legislators who will.

We get the Congress we elect.

This from the guy who has been here a whole 8 months? Looks like "Trust but Verify" has been here about 5 1/2 years longer than you. Something to consider before you start accusing people of being frauds and imposters. The point was to show how frequently the "constitutional/federalist" arguments are made without any mention of the persons view of the merits of the Schiavo case - and then, lo and behold - Surprise! They support the murder of Mrs. Schiavo on "the merits". Not without some exceptions, but common enough to show a distinct pattern.

Did Congress not pass a law 2 days ago? What is executive fiat about enforcing that law? Not to mention the others that have been broken in this affair.

How about federal marshalls stopping the sale of contraceptives?

Believe it or not, the use of contraceptives is not guaranteed by the US Constitution. The Supreme Court created a right of privacy in 1965 that did not exist in order to nullify a Connecticut law that forbade their use. Remember, that you disagree with something or think it stupid does not make it unconstitutional.

Given that under the Constitution that actually exists, as opposed to the one invented by the Warren Court and subsequently upheld and expanded, contraception could be outlawed by a state, then ultimately, a state could use its police powers to prevent their sale. They would not post state police at the place of sale, any more than they post state police at a pharmacy to prevent the sale of illegal drugs, but they would be authorized to use police powers to prevent illegal conduct.

People here have been so conditioned by the leftists that they don't even have a clue about our own Constitution and what it really says.

And it's "right" to murder an innocent, disabled woman? I think some people have their priorities wrong. The laws in this case are every bit as wrong as the laws were during the slavery years and the segregation years. Just because it's written, doesn't mean it's just.

Hey, why not?

We could use the old liberal line, "If it saves just one life....".
