The Crime is complete. Terri Schiavo is dead. Our society, our culture and our laws failed this brave woman and her family who loved her with all their heart and soul. Her soul is God's. The cause is still ours.
In one last act of cruelty at the end, Terri’s parents were not allowed to be with their daughter as she died. Neither them or Terri’s siblings will be allowed to attend her funeral and Terri will be denied a Catholic funeral, cremated against her families wishes, and her remains tucked away in her husband’s family crypt far removed from the ever faithful family who sacrificed fifteen years of their life attempting to keep her alive and who fought for her until the bitter end. The cruelty exhibited by Michael Schiavo to Terri’s parents continued to the very end and now even beyond her death. Though we will never know Terri’s true wishes as to whether she would have wanted to die this way, we do know for certain that Terri would have never wanted Michael Shiavo to be so mean and cruel to her parents, and make them suffer like this.
Though I believe she was welcomed with open arms into the presence of the Lord, my family and I grieve her passing and empathize with the pain her parents are experiencing at the loss of their firstborn daughter. Death of a loved one is never easy, but we, and they, do not mourn as those who have no hope. God Bless you Terri, you will be missed and remembered.

There were allegations that Michael Schiavo is a control freak. Well, not only has he proven this beyond a reasonable doubt, but he has revealed to the entire world that he is a man with no heart or conscience.
One cannot help but wonder what took place in that room shortly before Terri died.
I can't stop crying.
I think I am going to have to leave Free Republic for a while. I am just utterly sick to death. Today, for the first time in my life, I am truly ashamed to be an American.
We tried, but we failed that woman. She is in God's hands now.
And as for George or Jeb... let's just say that if I could get past their Secret Service agents I would kick their balls right out of their ears.
Rest in Peace, Terri.
If no cameras were allowed in the room, how was this picture taken? She looks thinner in the face but could this have been taken before the feeding tube was removed? Or was her family always frisked before going in to visit
My mom died of Alzheimers. As you know, at some point the swallowing becomes a big issue. My mom starved to death from lack of food and hydration by a written DNR andother directives. When I got to her bedside she was down to about 80 lbs at 5.9" and was just skin and bone...we were able to give her ice chips and some liquid food..lucky to get 500CCs..her tummy would rumble..her skin got dry but lotion helped, blistex soothed her lips. Not until she slipped into a coma just a few hours before she died did she look "peaceful and calm"..before hand there were arm movements and grimaces and furrowed brow..it was not an easy exit...Terri did not have an easy exit either.
God help all who are brain damaged or handicapped in anyway. Let Felos have his way and many more would be executed in this " kind and gentle way"..sarcasm
I forgot to mention it took my mom 11 days to die of Alzheimers.
Oh that there could have been a bug planted and conversations taped, what the world could have learned.
What a vile and despicable national disgrace this is.
