I just happened to notice that in the boy names, the high-end ones are all Biblical and the low-end ones are all entertainers that were popular at some time in that decade.

Didn't Cletus rename Lisa to "Dengus Squatford, Jr"? I like that one better...

My job puts me in contact with names very similar (and worse) on a daily basis.

And urban legends are never imaginative enough to think up names as weird as those.

My son's name is Andrew. I can't beleive it is in the top 5, I thought it was rather old fashioned. Anyway, it's my brothers name. I wanted to name him Rader Trygve after my great uncles but my wife vetoed that.

Some background:

My wife and I are caucasian, and I guess we'd be considered upper income here in TN.

Our children are named Will (William) and Katie (Katherine).

Look how WHITE they are!

Silly.

I would say these are actually the same name. ;)

Yeah. Kinda like:

15. Jazmine
16. Jasmin
17. Jazmin
18. Jasmine

It would seem to me that some folks can't decide on how to spell it. Perhaps they need a dictionary. They are, after all, naming their kid after a plant.

Yes he did.

And Homer changed his name to Max Power.

He tried to get Marge to change her name to one of the following...

Hootie McBoob
Chesty LaRue
or Busty St. Clair

One of my favorite episodes.

"I never understood self-conscious, made up names. What's wrong with Christian names? Paul, Steven, James, Michael...?"

Someone yells "Mike" and we all turn around.

That's why I became "wiz". It's a Native American name that means 'sound on prairie, made by buffalo'. 'Tsa joke, but nobody else wants the name, and it keeps me humble.

Oh, yeah. IR1RU12. Whatever that means.

I once had to return a phone call to a young lady who gave her name as "Vagina."

It was embarrassing, to say the least, to call a place of business and ask for "Vagina," but since it was an important call I soldiered on.

Well, it turned out that her name was actually "Vijaya" but pronounced almost exactly the same as "Vagina."

I find it hard to belive that Rhonda and Tanya didn't show up on the "low-income white list". It seems most of the names on that segment of the list remind me of porn star names.

Of our eight children only three of sixteen names (first and middle names) made those lists. We have none on the high-end/low-end lists. We have one girl name on the white girl names list. We have one girl name on the crossover list. We have one boy name on the crossover list.

I have never understood why anyone would name their daughter MadiSON. Maybe Madidaughter??????
