Dick Durbin has tried to flip flop on whether or not he was a source for a column on Judge Roberts. Apparently the author of the column has backed up his sources on tape and can prove it.
A law professor who used Senate Minority Whip Richard J. Durbin as a source for a column last month about federal Judge John G. Roberts Jr. -- a column that Mr. Durbin later disputed -- has a taped phone message that he says proves the accuracy of his reporting. "There was never a question as to the accuracy of the [column can be seen in the Washing ton times ]. . .
As you might recall, conservatives immediately accused Mr. Durbin of applying a religious "litmus test" to the Roberts confirmation, and Mr. Durbin ran for cover saying that the column was inaccurate. Sorry Senator, but it appears that Mr. Turley can back up his column. Once again you are the shame of Illinois.
