ANSWER: Join in the May 1st Boycott and Day of Action for Immigrant Rights! [Major BARF Alert]
Email from ANSWER | April 28, 2006 | International ANSWER

[I periodically receive email from ANSWER. Here, stripped of all the "send money" pleas, for your amusement, is their latest spew. I know y'all will have fun with such a "target rich" post :]

Join in the May 1st Boycott
and Day of Action for Immigrant Rights!

March 25 LA 31

On Monday, May 1, International Workers Day, we will all be participating in one of the most momentous political events as millions of immigrant workers and students, and hopefully a large number of their allies, participate in the Great May 1st Boycott. Initiated from within the immigrant workers movement itself, the call for the May 1 Boycott has received the active support of organizations throughout the country.

For the last six weeks ANSWER chapters, organizers and volunteers have been going all out to build concrete solidarity for the mobilization of the millions of immigrant workers who have been in the streets demanding full rights and equality.

In Los Angeles alone, ANSWER Coalition supporters and activists have passed out 80,000 leaflets at workplaces, high schools and college campuses. In New York City,  ANSWER has been building neighborhood-based outreach committees to promote the boycott and other supplementary actions that will take place on May 1 including rallies and vigils that are scheduled throughout the city.

In San Francisco, Chicago, Washington, DC, and other ANSWER regional organizing centers similar work has been going on every day. We hope that all anti-war and social justice activists in the U.S., who have not already done so, contact local immigrant rights organizations to see how they can help. Take a moment this weekend to call an ANSWER organizing center near you to see how to get involved now (see phone numbers below) and help with the May 1 actions and beyond.

We are inspired by this movement which is truly led by the

March 25 LA 2
people themselves. Risking deportation and loss of job, millions of immigrants have decided, however, that it is better to come out and stand together rather than be beaten back by the racist right-wing Sensenbrenner bill which would turn all undocumented workers and those who aid them into criminal felons. Now the struggle has expanded. People are feeling their strength and demanding full legalization and equality.

Since its inception, on September 14, 2001, ANSWER has made a point of linking the struggle for peace with opposition to the U.S. government's domestic policy which has demonized and scapegoated immigrants and other targeted communities. We have also made the point that scapegoating and fear-mongering directed against immigrant communities is not simply the tactic of the Republican Party. During the Clinton years and since, the Democrats have either embraced or surrendered to the anti-immigrant bashing that has become all too commonplace in the United States.

There have been many parallels drawn between this new civil rights and workers rights movement with that of the civil rights movement of the 1950s and 60s. Even with all the obvious differences, this analogy is apt. The most noteworthy feature of the civil rights uprising of the 1950s and 1960s was that it was the people themselves who overcame the fear and intimidation and became the central actors on the political stage. It was the unbelievable heroism of "ordinary" people that made the difference. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 were adopted by a Congress whose social and racial composition were almost identical to the Congress of the 1950s that upheld Jim Crowism as the law of the land.

What changed the political situation was the action of the mass of the people. That's exactly what is happening today, and that is what will make the May 1 boycott such a huge success.

This new civil rights and workers and rights movement is diverse and decentralized. Because of its breadth, it is only natural that there will be many scores of organizations at the national and local level that have formed and will form in a leadership and coordinating capacity. The ANSWER Coalition is working with and supporting the efforts of many organizations in the immigrant rights movement and  community. The International May 1 Coalition has played a major role in promoting and coordinating some of the main boycott efforts on May 1.

Oh yes! Please do! Make sure there's a lot of TV cameras there. Every American citizen needs to witness the foreign invasion of our country.
Show them why their taxes are so high. Sing them your new Mexican anthem. Make sure they hear it loud and clear. DEMAND obedience from the American citizen. ORDER them to obey. Do it!

They should have full rights:

The right to remain silent
The right to know anything they say may be used against them
The right to consult an attorney
The right to be appointed an an attorney...

And they have the freakin right to go home and take it to THEIR COUNTRY and protest in THEIR STREETS. WE DO NOT NEED THEM HERE!!!!

I have absolutely no problem with immigrants, as long as they are LEGAL. I do have a problem with criminals and illegals demanding rights (and entitlements/benefits) they do not deserve.

The unbridled arrogance and gall of illegal immigrants to demand rights is so appalling I am beside myself. I would never, ever dream of entering another country illegally and then demanding this, that, the other. No one is forcing them to be here (quite the opposite) so if they don't like it, get the F out, and don't promote an alternative PC version of our national anthem either. Any sympathy I had on a humanitarian level with people trying to find a better life is fast evaporating with arrogance like this. This is unadulterated bullsh*t.

For the next several weeks, at least, whenever I enter any business, the first question I will ask is, "Excuse me, may I ask if this establishment, by chance was open or closed on May 1st? And did you join in the Immigrant boycott"?

If their answer is that they were closed, then I will simply turn around and walk out, saying, "well, then I shall in turn boycott YOU!"

Hey African Americans! First you had the homos riding on your backs, now you've got all of Mexico. The load must be getting a little heavy for you right now, aye?
Good thing you folks did all that work. There's parasites that need feeding.

Typical Stalinist A.N.S.W.E.R. tactic, show up with your signs and banners and jump out front.

Or grab all the permits to blackmail the groups too lazy to have done it in time.

All A.N.S.W.E.R. tries to do is tap any cause that is current. How do you say, "Beloved Leader King Jong Mentally Ill" in Mexican? Because A.N.S.W.E.R. will preach the blessings of North Korea's communist paradise to them.

Blacks fought hard for their freedoms and civil rights, and it took a lot of pain and anguish on their part. The homos jumped on their backs and claimed the struggles as their own. Now, the Mexicans are trying to get a free ride on their backs, too, yet neither had to work hard day in their whole life!
If I were an African American and people were using my struggle and my race to get themselves freebies, I'd be livid!

I don't know the numbers but I do know that Hoover brought the tanks out against the Bonus Marchers that were only trying to get the money the government to pay them what they said they would. I am just astounded by all this and can't believe this is going on at all. What did our government call the folks that went to the border--vigilantee's--yet they allow and even go along with this. Just astounding!!

Hmm, interesting. I was referring to the rallies in L.A. a few weeks back. The fact that so many people were mobilized and gathered raised a--forgive the pun--red flag. There's a simple rule that, so far, has proven right: Wherever there is a massive protest or rally for a left-wing cause, WWP will be doing the organizational and operational work.

Remember the anti-war protests abroad just prior to and following the invasion of Iraq?

got an email. here it is.

Even if it is fabricated or exaggerated, there are good reasons to suspect that armed action has been in the works for a while--and that Aztlan is laying the framework for it now. Like this, from a November 7, 2005 article by Ernesto Cienfuegos from the Aztlan site:

On top of all this, there are major rumblings in the high schools of the Los Angeles Unified School District, the second largest in the USA. A few days ago, thousands of students, predominantly of Mexican descent, simply walked out of their schools to protest overcrowding, lack of texts, lack of desks and unqualified teachers. There is a strange feeling here in Los Angeles that something sinister is about to happen but no one knows when. All it will take is for a "bird-brain cop" to do something stupid and all hell will break loose. If another major rebellion breaks out here in L.A. it could rapidly spread throughout the USA as it has spread in France.

The social and economic conditions that exist in France that adversely affect its immigrant and Muslim populations also exist here in the USA. These conditions negatively affect our Black, Latino and immigrant populations in the same way. The rebellion that is occurring in France can and will most probably happen here. If it does, it will have grave consequences on the social, political and economic structures of the country and it could possibly topple a government already weakened by the Iraq War and corruption within its ranks.

Wow, what great, detached analysis, as if to say, "This is what could happen--but we're not saying it will. But it could..."
