Did The Left Hide A Crime For Political Gain?

Update: More on Mike Rogers. He edits this site, which used to be affiliated with Raw Story. Interestingly enough, one month before that small site that broke the news showed up, Rogers closed down his old blogger site “Blogactive” and started a new one under a new URL. More on this later if I find something of interest.

Update: Well, folks should have known I would turn an eye on the blog site that was used to “expose’ Folely’s problems. One thing to note is it would not be impossible for the Dems to know of Folely’s issues. So let’s forget about the idea this was a secret for a year. First thing to note is the blog was started in July 2006. That means, if this was a disinformation campaign, the information on Folely was known months ago. First post was July 28th. This gives us an interesting horizen to focus on.

Update: Major Update at Mac Rangers! A democrat operative has admitted (as he pats himself on the back) of having the salacious emails before the news media (which, given the time of these emails many months ago is damning) and making sure the timing of the story coincided with optimal impact, before the elections:

Fact is that [Mike] Rogers admits to being in possession of the IM’s BEFORE they were posted on the web via his own comments on his site:

“As people know, it’s not always possible for me to disclose my role in some of the activities.

I can say this. I had the emails before they were on the net. Additionally, I had the additional emails, written by the page to a friend. The story was being written by a number of outlets and I provided additional information to reporters involved in the breaking of this story.

Was [I] the central figure in reporting on Foley’s latest scandal? Never said I was. Was my work on the case important to helping make sure it came out before the election? Yes.

Did I have any idea that the GOP leadership was engaged in a cover-up? Nope. Do I love the fact that they are trying to spin this as ‘naughty emails?’ Yup. because it shows how out of tought they are about queer closet cases.”

The first person on the FBI list of people to investigate is this troll. More good questions from Rick Moran on the nothing site all of sudden attracting attention and breaking this story. Do these liberal really have brains? Does anyone think bloggers, experts in the media, would not sniff out a fraud?

Update: Clarice Feldman has a lot more on the questionable timing and sequence of events revolving around this story. Also, check back at Mac Ranger’s link below because it is becoming more and more possible Democrat operatives knew of the situation and allowed a predator to roam free so they could time the news for their partisan gain. Messages of complicancy are being removed from websites as we speak. The Democrats are going to be in a world of hurt their calls to protect children boomerang on them because they had the details of a crime and stayed silent, leaving children exposed and abused, to maximize their votes on this issue. - End Update

More at Mac Ranger’s site on the disturbing revelations that some on the left may have had detailed knowledge of Rep Folely’s crimes and hid them in order to use the revelations for partisan gain at a later date. While Folely was exploiting children to satisfy a sick, personal desire, anyone who allowed the continued exploitation of children for political gain is just as much a criminal as Folely. And maybe even more so. How could anyone let a child suffer so they could use the suffering months (and maybe years) later for their own purposes? If ever there was complicancy in a criminal act, this is it. It is not necessary for the Folely to know about these acts of covering the crime to make them any less criminal. For once, and for the country, I hope this is not what happened. If our political discourse has sunk to this kind of low, then we as a nation are in serious trouble. And we have been brought to this ugly point by ugly acts from all corners of our political leadership.

Thanks for posting this!! Does anyone have the 'official tip line' so we can send all of the stuff we have dug up to DOJ? I have been looking for it and can't find it so far. Help with this would be appreciated.

Media Schadenfreude and Media Shenanigans PING

Yellow journalism and trial by media. ZOGBYISM at its finest.

Congress is worse than a small town when it comes to keeping secrets. If it was known that pages were told to steer clear of Foley it's hard to believe the democrats didn't know.

Does the GOP look bad? heck yeah they do but the democrats are peeing all over themselves with excitement and will burn themselves like they always do.

Another good question in my view is "would" the left hide a crime for political advantage. By definition of who they are they would. The left must cheat to win. The left must disguise themselves to win.
The left must lie to win.
So we know they would hide a crime--and have done so many times and are still doing so.

My post on thread: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1711372/posts Post #184 was, I believe, the first one on Free Republic to suggest that the Dems and their running dog lackeys had commited a crime by holding this material until a propitious moment.

Looks like I was on to something since that's one of the earliest posts on FR concerning this issue.

Sorry. I beat you by 4 hours, but this isn't a contest I want to win. See the Big Thread, post 321, and the excellent reply at post 368.

You asked that question right as the story started on a Friday post. And that's a lesson to us all ~ no matter what the Dems say, it's probably a lie.

I was busy with something else at the time.

BTW, by the time we get to Sunday evening Freepers have tracked down some of the "sources" of those materials, so we now have at least one name for the FBI to "grill".

My initial distrust of the Democrats was based on a pattern that I was seeing regarding a plot to oust Republicans after ballot deadlines would force them out without replacement, giving Democrats an unopposed election in a supposedly safe GOP seat.

I started second-guessing myself when I came back from an evening out at midnight and began catching up. I found out later that I should have just trusted my instincts.

I found this post of mine from earlier in the Friday thread:

The pattern that I see emerging is for Democrats to knock Republicans out of races after filing deadlines in order to run unopposed.

The US Supreme Court refused to step into the New Jersey case with Torricelli, calling it a state issue. Now we have Democrats forcing DeLay to stay on the ballot when he's not running, and presumably they'll do the same thing with Foley. We'll see what happens with Menendez in NJ.

At some point the Supreme Court will have to stop this tactic.

This is where my suspicions started tingling the senses.

Good riddance to Foley. If his wife want to stick with him, she'd better get him into *serious* long-term counseling by someone who won't 'validate' his homoeroticism.

That said, I haven't heard of anything that would be criminal: age of consent in DC is 16, and the content of the communications both ways made public sound like the page wasn't resisting the cyber-advances. And we all know that the abuse of power involved someone in government (as opposed to academe) taking advantage of an intern is a private matter, 'just sex', no big deal. . . (Or are the demonRATs going to make a big distinction between pages and interns?)

Well, I take back my second sentence. I see Foley isn't married (it must be a recollection of some earlier sex scandal that appended the 'disappointed my wife and family' statement of contrition to this one in my mind).

From today's New York Times:

And Mr. Foley is not the only person who could possibly face prosecution, Professor Berman said. “If there were people who knew about him or protected him,” he said, “some sort of complicity or conspiracy charge is certainly viable.”

(Emphasis mine.)

I wish I could figure out how to research what I have suspicions about.

Foley's oppnent has raised MUCH MORE MONEY than a democrat should be able to raise in a supposedly safe disctrict. And John Kerry showed up to campaign for the guy on Saturday (quite a coincidence, huh?).

It would not surprise me to find that there are several supposedly safe Republican seats which suddenly have well-funded democrat opponents. If we could find those districts, we could spot where the next bombshell will be thrown.

I saw your earlier post to me. I wondered about that, too. Who would be a likely target? Dreier? I couldn't find any information on his district race. In my area, Pombo is the only GOP in the entire 11 Bay Area districts, but he's safe and not on the DNC target list.

How much has his opponent raised? That's the question we need answered.

Unreasonably large anounts of Rat money in a supposedly safe GOP district are the key to this. I just wish I knew how to find out.

I'm just trying to figure this out myself. I see a lot of people posting donation information.

I went to www.fec.gov and started doing searches. I'm looking at that candidate/party/pac summaries. For CA-26 (Dreier), I don't see anything unusual. Dreier has $1.2 million in receipts and and $3 million in cash. Nobody else is close.

If I do only a statewide search for Florida, I see in Foley's district (16) that he and his opponent both have about a little over a million in receipts, but Foley has $2.7 million in cash, too.

Try poking around there on a state by state basis and see if anything unusual pops up. I might do the same later.
