Last night, John McCain met with a carefully screened group of Chicago-area Latino voters. The town hall was closed to the media. Several readers e-mailed an eyewitness account of the event. Here’s an excerpt:

I was one of the 150 people at the Drake Hotel in Downtown Chicago Wednesday night who came to hear John MC Cain speak to Illinois Hispanics.

I had e-mail in my request to attend after seeing an article in the news paper announcing this event.

This is what i received……….

We are pleased to confirm your invitation to attend the “Hispanic Voices Reception” with Republican Presidential candidate John McCain. The event will take place on June 18, 2008, at The Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton Place, Chicago, Illinois, in the Drake Room.

A volunteer will call you in the next couple of days to give you a “unique event ID number.” You will need that number along with photo identification at the registration table in order to access the event. Doors open for the event promptly at 7:30 PM. Please come early, though, to get through security.

During the reception, Senator John McCain will be fielding questions from the audience. We ask that you be respectful during the question-and-answer session even if your opinions differ from those being shared. Please dress in business-casual attire.

You may park at The Drake Hotel for $30; valet parking is also provided at the hotel for $45. If you are traveling from the suburbs, limited seating is available on the bus leaving from Aurora. To reserve a seat for the bus, please contact us on our hotline number or by e-mail. For your own directions to the event, please click here.

For questions regarding the event, please call our hotline number at 630-801-0043 or e-mail us at McVolunteers@yahoo.com.

Both Senator John McCain and I look forward to meeting you next Wednesday.

Face to Face with John McCain!

“Hispanic Voices Reception”

Wednesday, June 18, 2008, starting at 7:30 PM

The Drake Room The Drake Hotel 140 E Walton Place Chicago, IL 60611

You are invited to hear John McCain address Illinois Hispanics!

If you have any questions, please contact: Gabriela Wyatt or Julie Brady at McVolunteers@yahoo.com Or call the event hot-line (630) 801-0043 _________________________________________________________

…..Personally as an Original Minuteman who attended the Historic Minuteman Border Watch in 2005 on the Arizona/ Mexico border and returni[n]g 2 more times for a tour of duty along our southern Border, I was especially looking forward to what John Mc Cain would say about illegal immigration.

This was a NO MEDIA ALLOWED EVENT! That is why I am reporting back to you, all of you folks who have fought so hard with your phone calls to Washington D.C. last summer, shutting down the Washington DC switch board and defeating the AMNESTY BILL. I am reporting back to you those of you who work tirelessly in your local cities and towns trying to get some public elected official to care and enforce the rule of law.

I was told by my friend and fellow Hispanic Marianne Davies who is on the board of “You Don’t Speak for Me” that John Mc Cain has been going across the country having “PRIVATE” meetings with Hispanics.

Although the [invitation] said we would be able to ask questions, that “question ” time with John McCain never happened. That was ok with me, I never had the intention of asking a question, I knew exactly the kind of open borders crowd I was with.

John McCain’s favorite words of the evening were Comprehensive Immigration Reform. But he started out first of all saying if he is gonna win the Presidential election he will need the support of the Latino community.

He said ” My state has been enriched by the Hispanic culture in Arizona.”

Then John McCain asked a question “Did you know this? I bet some of you did not know that Spanish was spoken in Arizona before English” …Loud cheers from the audience. (Ok John McCain What is your AZTLAN POINT?)

Then he said “I want to have some straight talk about our relationship with Mexico, our closest neighbor and dearest friend” He talked about the Mexican President fighting the drug cartels.

Then John McCain aid the exact thing I came to hear, he said “I was proud to work for Comprehensive Immigration Reform and If I am elected President I assure you that in 2009 I will ask Congress to pass Comprehensive Immigration Reform.” (The crowd goes wild) “It is a Federal Responsibility” he said and continued ” we also need a temporary guest worker program”

He then told a story about a day laborer who got picked up this morning, worked all day and then never got paid…We have no Federal Policy, we cannot allow this to happen, he said, He repeated I assure you that I will work for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.

John McCain talked about a debate he was in about enforcing the law and he says that the “other side had a lot of “Rhetoric” “you know what I am talking about!” he said…

Yeah, we know what he’s talking about. All too well.

New York - The Republican candidate for the White House, Senator John McCain, promised that if he wins, a day after he is sworn in as a new president of the United States, he will pressure Congress to enact a law immediately in favor of immigration reform.

The candidate that appears today eight points behind his Democrat rival Barack Obama, did the pronouncement in an interview that he granted to the Hispanic newspaper La Opinion in Los Angeles…

McCain said that it is completely false that [he] has abandoned his original commitment to fight for reform for the more than 12 million undocumented immigrants that reside in the United States and that includes the failed proposal of President Bush, to secure the borders first.

“This reform will be a priority in my administration because it is a convincing federal responsibility”, added the contender of the Republican Party. “We will undertake immigration reform and on the day after my inauguration, I will ask Congress to reconsider it, although I believe that first we have to secure our borders, set in motion a plan for guest workers that works and to focus on the issue of the undocumented in a humane and compassionate way.”

Someone needs to get an audio or video recording of his next 'private invited-Hispanic only talk,' though I don't relish the idea of listening to or seeing Juan Hernandez, whom I assume was on hand for the event.

[In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if this whole thing was his idea]

I really can’t say that I’m at all comfortable with this. I’m not even talking about what is reported here to have gone on in these meetings. What bothers me a great deal is that McCain, who is running to be President of ALL the people of this nation, thinks that it is OK to have secret meetings with select groups....to say what?....to promise what?.....to make what kind of deals? Citizens and voters who are not from these groups are kept in the dark as to what this candidate is doing....and he wants our votes.

This does not bode well at all.

More proof that he’s a worthless P.O.S.
If he makes Mitt his running mate, I may re-consider.
But, like the Furniture Guy says on TV..
“I doubt it!”

McCain lies like a sociopath and/or like somebody who is becoming senile. I recall him - on tape of course - phoning me prior to the Virginia primary and declaring himself to be “a proud Conservative.” His flip flops are worse than Kerry's. I can be sure he is for CRF and for amnesty. This shows a contempt for the Constitution and for the future of this country. He has stated several times that he “didn't love this country” until after he became prisoner. Apparently he once again no longer loves this country.

Good point - which makes me wonder if O isn't doing something similar - either with blacks, Muslims, or what have you...

Not good, all around.

There are plenty of reports of gang violence south of the border. According to this Daily Telegraph Article:
Since January, more than 1,300 people have been killed in execution-style hits or gunned down in fire fights, which often rage for hours in broad daylight and turn residential neighbourhoods into war zones. If the trend continues, 2008 will top last year's toll of 2,500 deaths in drug-related killings.
You don't hear so much about Americans at the Border. Too bad.

Americans are regularly abused. According to this article entitled US Warns Tourists of 'Small-Unit Combat' at Mexico Border -- Murder and kidnapping of Americans has become routine all along the US Mexican border. According to the State Department sometimes heavily armed attackers wear the uniforms of the Mexican police or military.

If there is silence about events at the border. The silence about killings north of the border is deafening. And yet....

More Americans killed by illegal aliens than Iraq war, study says Think about it. A man or woman killed in Iraq or Iran in the line of duty is a hero. But what is an American killed at home by an illegal alien because the government has failed in its sworn duty to guard the borders. This is a pact between the sovereign and the person has paid taxes and loyalty. The answer is to that question is pretty awful. And it bodes ill for the republic.

But is it true?

When you start digging into the numbers the only ones that can be sourced with the feds are the number of American murdered in 2005: 16692
I have seen federal numbers for illegals held in jail ranging from 19.3% to 27% of the federal prison population.

Here's a sampling of USA cities wanted for murder. What you'll see is that in big USA cities like LA or NYC most of the murderers are Hispanic. Unknown are the % of illegals. In smaller cities the FBI will post the nationalities of the murderers. About 25% of the most wanted are illegals wanted for murder. This number agrees with the percentage of illegals incarcerated in federal prisons. +-25%

Pictures of top 10 most wanted in LA. Up until recent stories about crime in LA posted by the LA Times--the pictures included the nationality of the murderers. They were all foreign nationals and mostly Mexican.

Wanted for Murder in New York City.

Chicago wanted for Murder

Philadelphia wanted for murder

San Francisco wanted for Murder

New Orleans wanted for Murder

Pictures of suspects wanted for murder in Washington DC

FBI USA 10 most wanted. (two of 10 are Mexican nationals) Around 40% of the FBI's wanted for murder are Mexican Nationals

There are currently no exact numbers on the number of Americans killed by illegals. Part of the reason is that the government deliberately obscures the number. I talked on the phone with the head of statistics for the US Bureau of Prisons. He said his office wasn't allowed to publish the number of illegal alien murderers. Rather they were forced to put legal and non legal residents in the same category. He said further that most of illegals in the federal prisons were in for drug related charges. Most of the illegals in jail for murder were in the state prisons. I talked to ICE. They put out detailed numbers on illegal child molestors. However, they put out nothing on illegal murderers.

Part of the reason for the silence on the matter is that there is evidence to suggest that most Americans--but by no means all -- being killed by illegals are black--as is the suggestion in this LA Times Article. Also this article from the LA Times. And here. This makes intuitive sense. We see stories regularly of drug gang killings in Mexico but we don't see those same stories in the USA. The reason we don't see those stories is not because its not happening. Rather we don't see the stories about illegals killing blacks because that kind of story is terribly politically incorrect. The populations being displaced in downtown sanctuary cities especially are American blacks. That means that their criminal elements would be pushed aside by Mexican gangs as well. That's also the story that the wanted for murder posters in all the major cities seems to suggest.

Why isn't there an outcry in the black community? Beats me.

Nevertheless, the pattern of non reporting is starting to break. Discovery Channel has a series called Gangland that mentions ethnic cleasing of blacks by Mexican gangs

Reported Foreign Nationals on Death Row in the U.S.

To look at other USA cities go here http://stlouis.fbi.gov/ and replace stlouis with the city you want.

All that said the true number of criminal aliens is far higher than is revealed by criminal aliens in prisons. Most are simply waived through the courts.DHS Secretary Chertoff, has been quoted as warning that two million people in this country illegally have committed serious crimes. If you check the links you'll notice that its McCain who cites Chertoff. See also here and here Here is more info from Judicial Watch.

However the number of illegals on death row is far lower. Sadly, so many small towns and villages across America have sent their warriors off to war half way across the world only to see communities fill up with illegal aliens.

He doesn't seem to want to protect America, though he says somethings to that effect. He seems to want to open up our country to any and all comers - the value of an American citizenship is plunging nearly as fast as the dollar (though to be fair, the dollar's plunge has been slowing as of late).

I'm not sure what value his talk on the WOT is if he refuses to secure our borders from invasion.

Obama is going to bring class antagonism (Marxism) and race antagonism (rasism) to the White House - but McCain doesn't seem to bringing much himself - take 'cap and trade.'

All I can see him bringing as a positive is a push for domestic oil - though his support for the 'Climate Change' hoax may render that moot, not mention it may only be out-the-side-of-his-mouth pandering.

Color me pissed at the MSM for choosing these candidates!

Of course, the meetings are secret so he can pomise different things to different competing groups. He can promise amnesty to illegal aliens at one meeting and closing the borders and expelling the illegals at another meeting. And because the meetings are secret, McCain thinks no one will realize how crooked he is.

Well it's nice to hear but so far it's campaign promises. He needs to get to work on the legislation and put up a real fight to get it passed now not later.
