Ron Paul on Glenn Beck Show

Posted on 07/30/2008 4:27:52 PM PDT by rightwinghour

I watched Ron Paul on Glenn Beck today and as usual I was amazed that he is just about the only politician in Washington talking about the real issues. Neither McCain nor Obama will talk about monetary policy. They are scared to, because they know the system we have is unconstitutional and that the only way to fix things is to go back to constitutional money. But that would hurt, so it wouldn't be prudent to bring it up...

Welcome to FreeRepublic. Did Paul also flap his gums about his brilliant Pelosi-esque foreign policy prescriptions?

"No, he didn’t say anything about US empire building."

You're on thin ice, Noob. Why don't you tell us all how 9/11 was a Jewish Neocon plot, the Bilderbugers rule the world and "no more blood for oil" and etc... Frickin' anti-semite skinheads and Birkenstockers...

That’s unusual for him to not flap gums in support of Pelosi’s foreign policy even when the question has to do with Texas sized earmarks or other things unrelated.

I believe the only plot on 9/11 was on the part of the terrorists, I’ve never heard of the Bilderbugers or the Birkenstockers, and I am not part of the “no blood for oil” crowd. I just believe in a sensible non interventionist foreign policy.

Pelosi and Paul really don’t share the same foreign policy. Pelosi would still have us policing the world, Paul wouldn’t.

Don’t be saying nice things about Ron Paul, you’ll be invited to kiss the founders ass. I know.

Where has Pelosi called for us to police? Certainly not Iraq, Iran, Syria, Sudan, Tawain, Venezuela, Colombia, Cuba, Somalia, Burma....

Problem is, even if Paul were made President tomorrow, the system is far too deeply entrenched to do a thing about it.

Basically, there is on the order of 13 trillion or more paper dollars in one form or other in various economies, there is simply no way to back all of that with gold or what have you.

And that leads to the other issue, if the above is true, the only way to keep things moving is via inflated growth around the globe, the two go hand in hand.

Yeah, it’s something we’ve been doing to one extent or another since the Spanish-American War. We don’t want to admit we have imperialistic tendencies, but having 700 bases in 130 countries is the very opposite of a humble foreign policy of non interventionism.

Gee, let’s ask the simple questions first.

— Why exactly is our current money “unconstitutional”?

— What would constitute “going back to constitutional money”? Be precise.

Face it, you're just a wimpy pacifist. Pacifists disgust me. You complain about all the military bases we have. I look at them as outposts to watch over all the megalomaniacal mass-murdering dictators that we have in the world today. You and the Paulites are a true danger to freedom and capitalism everywhere. You guys wouldn't lift a finger to free millions of people who are subjugated to a dictator, while you sit in the USA and enjoy these freedoms as if they were your God given right. I would demolish you in a debate.

She supported Kosovo, Bosnia, and Haiti interventions, plus she supported having a military occupation of Palestine.

She would allow the afghanistan “imperialism” to continue. Paul wouldn’t. To a Paulogist, the afghanistan war was a mistake and we need to retreat immediately. The line between a paulogist and a truther is so thin you need a microscope to detect it. They have slightly different reasons for supporting the same action: complete and total surrender to al qaeda. Compared to Paul, Obama and Pelosi seem more like Bush on foreign policy.

I am not a pacifist. I believe in the theory of Just War. And how exactly is peace a danger to freedom and capitalism? It is not our business to “free” millions of people from a dictator. If the people want freedom, they will eventually decide to TAKE IT, just like we did. And by the way, the freedoms we have ARE God given. Our Constitution was written so that our government would protect those God given rights. Yep, you really demolished me.
