DUmmie DRuggies (Bashing)
vanity
Posted on 10/28/2008 5:35:56 PM PDT by DrHannibalLecter
as mentioned earlier, these 18 yr old druggies have a stronghold in the web 2.0 space. apparently they saw our digg thread and see their posts:
"Freeper has temerity to suggest new series of tubes to fellow freepers. Hilarity ensues." " Cave safe, fire is scary! Do not WANT!!" "Right, armchair interneting will not help mcCain much." "They are just as ignorant and backward as the Muslims they hate so much...n/t" "did these people find FR in the first place? Do they think FR IS the internet?"
I like this DUmmie quote the best though:
"Those who know how... should keep an eye on them" -------------------------------------------------- understandably there is always resistance to change, however, there is significant opportunity to transform and wake up the 800lb gorilla that is freerepublic and begin pounding these Wal-Mart cash register boys into the ground..via web 2.0 control. I understand, I'm perceived as a newbie here, but i have a solid understanding of the marketing instruments to win coupled with passion for conservatism

There’s a tendency to see a democrat under every rock. Those folks sound more like 4channers to me. They’re apolitical insofar as they hate everything.

“Do they think FR is the internet?”
Pretty much.
It’s about the only place that isn’t infested with foul mouthed punks.

Simply enough, They found that we found digg to be and effective tool against their firehose of babbling, brain damaged drivel.
The war is on, and the game is afoot.

"...these Wal-Mart cash register boys.." This is called "projection" in psychology. I own a business, and I'll bet there are a LOT more professionals(doctors, lawyers, etc.), business owners, scientists, executives, teachers and managers here than on DU, Kos and HuffandBlow, combined. Not to mention that 99% of us don't live in Mom's basement!

Not to mention the fact that they ridicule someone [The Cashier] who is -at least- working for a living. I wonder if they would have the same level of contempt for a welfare deadbeat?

You err in assuming that everyone understands your particular brand of "geek speak". Also, better formatting of your main post would make things much clearer - like putting some spaces between different quotes, etc.
I have no idea if your post is something I should be amused by, motivated by, or neutral about.

We can no longer use the terms “welfare deadbeat”, “bum”, “wino” or similar. The new term is underhoused, non-employment-seeking fermented beverage consumer.

No doubt. My wife and I fit Obama's definition of "the rich." Now if Wal-Mart cashiers can do that then this country is in trouble.

apologies then.
basically, freerepublic is #1 conservative site a bit silo’ed in the fact that it isn’t/connected to web 2.0 sites such as reddit/digg/ which gets 1M+ unique viewers daily.
Arianna Poopington launched her cestpool website by tieing both the base with the influence on external audiences through digg, which to some extent worked. It has jumped over drudgereport and freerepublic on daily traffic. As much as I hate this witch, I’d love to see us (our traffic is bigger than DUmmies) begin moving our message together across the internet. Management here supports us from my understanding.
DUmmies see we were planning this in the other thread.
that was my post above in a bit more detail.

Too close to “free-gigging” which, of course, is something Aggies do naked and drunk after yell practice.

Management here supports us from my understanding. So why don't they integrate digg links into the FR fabric?
Seems to me that the Admins would not want the massive influx of random crazies?

humm, yup, that could cause some problems! although if youre going to run around drunk and naked and yelling “freeging” the internet would be ideal. no visuals if you know what i mean lol.
To: DrHannibalLecter
LOL, ok, thanks. I think I got the gist of what you're saying. I'm not sure I totally get some of the lingo (such as "silo'ed", "digg", "reddit") and I'm not sure what the distinction of a web 2.0 site is, but basically, your saying it would be great to get FR broader exposure through new and emerging popular internet venues, yes? Sounds like a good idea.
I'll leave it to you on the "how to" since you're the marketing guru (I have enough trouble trying to market my own little business on basically a zero dollars budget), but when you get it figured out, please remember to lay out some very specific, step-by-step instructions (at least until we get the hang of it) on how to assist, so some of us less "net savvy" types can lend a hand.
