Kenyan Ambassador Says Obama’s Birthplace in KENYA is “An Attraction…Already Well-Known”

About twelve minutes into a Detroit radio station’s interview with Kenyan ambassador Peter Ogego, he is asked whether or not monuments will be erected in honor of Obama’s elevation to the United States presidency.

Ogego responds that a monument will be erected at Obama’s birthplace in Kenya, which is already a site of pilgramage: “His birthplace is already an attraction…it’s already well known.”

Obama’s Kenyan grandmother has also asserted that he was born in Kenya, not the United States. The Constitution bars those born outside of US territory from becoming President.

There are also lawsuits pending — including one by Obama’s former Senate campaign opponent Alan Keyes — challenging Obama to provide proof of citizenship eligibility to take office. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has put this isssue on the docket for the Court to review on December 5th.

A correction, the Constitutional requirements are:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

Contrary to the article, persons born outside the territory of the United States may be natural born citizens, depending on their parentage and the prevailing law at the time of their birth. In Obama’s case, if he was born in Kenya, under the prevailing law at the time of his birth he would not have been a US citizen. Hence the lawsuits.

No, a parent cannot renounce citizenship on behalf of a minor child. Only renunciations of citizenship by the person after attaining the age of 18 are valid under US law.

The only question open is whether he was a citizen at birth, which because his father was a British subject, and his US citizen mother was younger than the then prevailing statutory requirement for one parent’s US citizenship to be passed to a child at birth, turns entirely on where Obama was born.

Got a news flash for you FRiend, unless 0bama was born on U.S. soil or U.S. territory, he is NOT eligible to serve as President, and if his mother were Betsy Ross or Kate Smith it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference.

You might want to write to John McCain then. He was born in Panama, IIRC. Having two US citizens as parents also qualifies as a "natural-born citizen". (Obama's father was Kenyan, his mother Kansan.)

Kenyan laws are irrelevant to the discussion. Only US law will apply to the determination of his citizenship for the purposes of the presidency.

The Cayman Islands could pass a law tomorrow saying that every human on the planet is a Cayman. That doesn't change our citizenship status.

There are age and time in country requirements that were not met.

***Why do they keep beating that dead horse?
Unless I misunderstand the law, his mother was a US citizen, so it doesn’t matter where he was born.***

Because the president has to be a “natural born citizen.” My mother was born in England, and became an American citizen when she moved here. She is a CITIZEN. She is not a NATURAL born citizen.

I think so too. This is the second reference to “his birth place” that I’ve seen and heard.

You are correct about the place of birth, but the Indonesian question is still open. If he traveled on an Indonesian - or British, or Kenyan - passport that he obtained as an adult, he almost certainly did renounce his American citizenship to obtain it. And at the time of his trip to Pakistan, they did not allow Americans to enter.

He did NOT need to do ANYTHING in America, or provide any notice to America, to renounce his American citizenship. Making an entitled claim of citizenship in a foreign country is probably enough. I could have claimed full British citizenship at age 18, because I was born in London to American parents - and I would have had no further duty or obligation to America of any kind. Instead, I took an oath of citizenship here in the USA, and have a (derivative) Certificate Of Citizenship that attests to that fact, and shows my date of AMERICAN citizenship as the same as my date of birth.

And not a word on any of the other forums.
I’ve spread it around to about 10 or 15 forums. It was met with surprise from Repubs and the Obots refused to believe it.
Not a peep out of the Canadian newspaper that provided us with anti-Obongo stories or the Brits either!

To put it in perspective, Kenyans also have a tourist trap that is the “final resting place of the Ark of the Covenant” run by a mystic pseudo-Christian cult at the base of Mount Kenya.

I brought this issue up with my son-in-law who is a big Obama supporter (and donated thousands) and that was the 1st time he had heard of it. I might ad he prides himself on being up on the issues.

His 1st response was anger at Republicans so I mentioned that a Hillary supporter, Phillip Berg, was who started the lawsuits.

I advise every freeper to listen to this radio show. It is fairly “small potato” and starts out slow but stay with it. Guest call in and tell about the birth certificate/gate. It is excellent. If anyone listens to it please let us know if you feel it is worth while for others to hear. Thanks!

Scary.

I'm afraid you misunderstand the law. The POTUS must be a 'natural-born' citizen meaning he has to be born in the U.S. or other U.S. territory such as a U.S. military base, or U.S. embassy. The fact that 0bama will not show us the birth certificate that has been sealed in Hawaii tells me that something is very wrong with it.

*BZZZZT*!!!! Wrong answer. AGAIN. John McCain was born on a United States military base, which automatically qualifies as "U.S. soil", unlike Comrade 0bama whose birth on foreign soil is becoming increasingly likely.

We have a Grandmother who claims to have attended the birth in Kenya, a Kenyan Ambassador stating that the birthplace in question is in Kenya, and an alleged 'President-elect' who is resisting all efforts to just put the controversy to rest by producing the damn evidence.

Back to you pal.
