My Position on Obama Has Changed
From Sea to Shining Sea ^ | 4/3/09 | Purple Mountains

Like many traditional Americans I have been torn between my love of country and respect for the office of President – and my fear and loathing of the man now holding that position and of his policies. I have written several posts that essentially said that we should try to defeat those policies we abhor (destruction of capitalism, nationalized healthcare, imposition of socialism, class warfare, equalization of outcomes, discarding our defenses in a dangerous world), but support Obama’s attempts to strengthen our essential financial services industry.

Obama’s so-called recovery programs and his takeover of General Motors and the firing of its president has made me see that my position is untenable.

An electorate that elected and then reelected Bill Clinton and then eight years later elects Barack Obama has me worried.

I suppose it’s related to the utter degradation of the media and the academy that’s occured in my life time. Miseducated and misinformed voters are the cancer on the body politic.

This site is dedicated to providing moderate-right opinions,

What would be "moderate right' about Obama? He was the most left wing president in our nations history.

Rush is right with his description of "moderates".

My Position on Obama Has Changed

Mine has not.
As an American I fully understand that a Socialist has no business being President of a free Nation.
As I see no reason that Obama’s disdain for America and its Constitution will change I see no reason to beleive my position on Obama will change.

“Moderate” means gutless, dishonest, unprincipled.

The election of Clinton was not nearly as big a tragedy. At least Clinton wasn’t a radical socialist to the left of the Europeans. Remember how he infuriated politicians from the left and right by continually “triangulating” and finding a position in the middle? Please don’t flame me too badly for this. I’m no fan of BJ Clinton, but comparing him to the favorite son of Kenya gives the Odumbo way too much respect. Obama was the electorate’s really Big Ass Mistake (America).

Misinformation from the media (and from the “academics”) is a really big problem. We need to take the war directly to them.

I opposed the election of Obama in every way that I could. Your insulting response to my post is not called for. When I describe myself as moderate-right, it is to distinguish myself from the crazies that also exist on the right, and nothing else.

It's interesting -- especially in this context -- that you didn't even *mention* crazies on the left. Among whom are a number of Obama's long-time associates and appointments.

E.g. Holder who is arguing for the government right to prior restraint and censorship on works criticizing politicians.

Dawn Johnsen, who calls pregnant women "fetal containers" and likened pregnancy to slavery.

The Irrev. "God Damn America" Wright.

William Ayers.

Pelosi (Botox-CA), Reid(Land Deals-NV), and Barney Frank(Lollipop-MA).

Are you afraid of being "Joe the Plumbered" or do traditional American values strike you as "crazy"?

...

I went and clicked on your website. You do notice Obama's views, but don't call them crazy?

Please explain.

Your desire to distinguish yourself from the “crazies that also exist on the right” comes across as snobbish and elitist. I thought elitism was only for those with the “sensibilities” of the left.

We need every voice and every vote for our principled Second American Revolution. Please don’t come to the fight holding your nose at those who you feel don’t meet your fine standards.

The media, the democrats who helped to put McCain at the top of the ticket, the wimpy RINOs who didn’t want to say anything bad about him for hear of being labeled racist, the RINOS who crossed over and voted for The One because they watch too much American Idol and were confused about what we were voting for...! I could go on. Feel free to add to the list:

My only change in thinking about Obama is that I no longer have the slightest hope that I might have been wrong about him and he could have surprised all of us by being a good President. Now my only hope is that he becomes an albatross around the neck of the democrats without dragging the country down with it.

support Obama's attempts to strengthen our essential financial services industry.

Aka bailouts. Basically the process of taking taxpayer dollars and pouring them into insolvent ratholes until the credit of the United States has been exhausted and we collapse into hyperinflation or sky high interest rates or both. No thanks.

P.T. Barnum was right...suckers are born every minute....and America is chock full of ignorant suckers willing to believe anything especially wrapped in meaningless platitudes of “hope” and “change”. We will be paying for the sins of these suckers for decades...

Clinton was embarrassing and yet perversly entertaining at times. 0bama is a clear and present danger not only to the United States, but to free people around the world and those who want to be free people.

people are too stupid to realize obama has fallen for the “contain the usa” trap.

we are now going to be RETRAPPED in endless “talks” with the Russians ala USA vs USSR.

look for treaty signing ceremonies.

I guess you didn’t notice the word, “also”. I have posted almost 900 articles since I started my blog, and no-one who read a few of them would consider me anything but a conservative. I have consistently opposed Obama from the start. Don’t confuse me with David Brooks.
