Fiercely independent and thoroughly horrified at the blatantly unconstitutional explosion of federal tyranny into every aspect of our lives, Texans are set to march on the state capitol in droves on Saturday. They will be delivering a million-strong petition to their elected officials based on the 10th Amendment, demanding an immediate constitutional confrontation with Washington.
If they are turned away or their concerns inadequately addressed, organizer Gerry Donaldson says they "will be forced to call for a vote for secession." This will not be the last time a state openly defies Obama's treasonous war on the Constitution.
Donaldson, who runs his own Internet radio show, says they are "calling for an orderly process that will allow our federal government to fall back in line with the Constitution." He continued, "Either we will restore America, we will live in a Marxist dictatorship, or we will secede and start over again."
I would support a Free Republic of Texas and I would move there, too. If Obama is going to rule us with a fascist hand, then we don't have to live under him!
I'm Moving to Texas If The State Secedes (Unless Alaska Does It First)

If ObamaCare is passed, Texas may be the first in a series of states that man’s up and declares its independence.
Ready and willing to move to, and if necessary, fight for [insert name of first state to secede].
Secession appears to be the most viable way to proceed.
“Dagnabbit! Them feds done gone too far for me and muh paw!”
Ping.
“If ObamaCare is passed, Texas may be the first in a series of states that mans up and declares its independence”.
...or Cap & Trade or anything else that comes down the pike. Texas is pissed and they don’t do pissed well.
I hope it all works out in the end and ten years from now we have a very strong Republican majority. I would like to see lower taxes and less regulation and a turning back of the clock on healthcare - less govt involvement and a return of the country doctor.
Secession is tough stuff.
I hope Florida joins Texas. But even the State Gov. needs to be cut to size. We have had Republican control for years and still the Gov is huge.
Or Texas could exercise the authority in the Texas Annexation Resolution and form four more states, giving Texas eight more senators and thus, at least eight more electoral votes.
Secession actually makes much more sense than pursuing the birth certificate issue. BHO will never furnish it and a Democrat Congress will never impeach him much less open an inquiry on it.
WE THE PEOPLE !! ..... ARE !!! THE OVER LORDS of the GOVERNMENT and not the other way around !!
If the flag no longer represents a republic, or the Republic isn't the items listed in the pledge, then the whole thing is null and void anyway.
God Bless Texas!
Or Texas could exercise the authority in the Texas Annexation Resolution and form four more states, giving Texas eight more senators and thus, at least eight more electoral votes.
How many of those eight do you think would be conservative or even members of the GOP?
If Texas does this, count me in. I know most Texans don’t care for phony and superficial and wacky Californians, but I will earn my keep and join the Texas national guard. ANYTHING to be free of the Obama Nation.
No, what I pledge that allegiance to is a Republic represented by the flag, a Republic that is one nation with 50 States that provides liberty and justice to all.
That is not Barack Obama’s United States of America, not by any measure.
Me too. Immediately. (gotta buy up some houses before the flood!)
Lets hurry. We have crazy Franciscans coming into Texas in warp speed. I forsee a political sea change if we dont change soon.. (I know thats extreme, but almost everyone I know are transplants... and liberal ones)
That is nonsense.
“If the flag no longer represents a republic, or the Republic isn’t the items listed in the pledge, then the whole thing is null and void anyway.”
I simply see it differently than you, if things become as bad as you suggest they may, then I say we stand and fight to get our Republic back.
What if the federal government goes to such lengths that we are no longer a republic?
“everyone I know are transplants... and liberal ones)”
Ah, so they flee the place they screwed up and then move to a place and then try to turn it into the dump they came from.
Liberalism is a disease; it’s pretty clear now.
We’ll all move to Texas and the liberals will be outnumbered and they can move back to the USSA.
Too late. As it is right now, Texas is will be a Democratic State in 10 to 12 years as the state demographics are shifting under the weight of the current population.
Barack Obama’s America has a flag with 57 states!
“No, what I pledge that allegiance to is a Republic represented by the flag, a Republic that is one nation with 50 States that provides liberty and justice to all.
That is not Barack Obamas United States of America, not by any measure.”
The United States of America is a resilient republic, I believe we will survive having Barack Obama as president (even if we don’t flourish while he is in office), just as we have survived many other disastrous times.
“What if the federal government goes to such lengths that we are no longer a republic?”
Then we fight to get our republic back, that’s my plan anyway.
moving back to texas to help
Once Texas secedes and becomes its own nation, who will President Rick Perry go to when he needs to borrow 1.5 Billion Dollars?
“Texas may need to borrow $1.5 billion from feds”

If the dimrats actually followed the Constitution, then there wouldn’t be talk of seccesion. As for the plege being a lie, it would be if obama gets his way because the liberty and justice thing would be a thing of the past. He is acting more and more like a ruler than the President.
I would fight against secession as well.
Myth, and unconsitutional at that. No state may be admitted to the union without the consent of congress. Furthermore, it doesn’t apply. Texas was re-admitted under reconstruction and that is the binding the agreement.
I disagree.

Please understand that I make my comments as no fan of this president, I could put together a very long list of grievances against him in short order. At the top of my list would be his deplorable treatment of our good ally Uribe in Columbia. Columbia is doing just about everything right in terms of being a true democratic republic, and yet our president treats them like crap while he wants to be great friends with idiots like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. And our president’s latest message to our good friends Poland and the Czech Republic is basically to tell them to drop dead, because we are now going to pull back on our promises to install missile defenses there. So I’m not at all happy with this president. Nevertheless, I maintain that the United States of America is stronger than Barack Obama, and we will survive him.
Uh, no. Don't you remember a few years ago when the RATS threw a temper tantrum and ran off to hide in New Mexico over redistricting? First, they'd want one new state from the border counties which would then turn themselves over lock, stock, and barrel to some Mexican drug cartel. Next Sheila "Don't you know who I am" Jackson-Lee will demand her state be the biggest and have a plaque on the entrance gate with her name and picture on it. The third would be the libs in Austin with their state motto being "keep Austin weird" and move the capital to Hippy Hollow (nudist) and declare Lance Armstrong governor. The fourth state would be the rest of Texas. Hmmm, on second thought, that wouldn't be a bad idea after all!
I didn't say I wouldn't fight, just that the pledge becomes meaningless if the things that the flag represents are not what the pledge says.
For the record, I haven't given up on the USA yet.
With our luck, Ma Richards would be Guvnah of ONE of those states. Kinky Friedman might be Guvnah of another one. Some BUSH or another might be in another, and before we know it we’re in a worse fix than before!
“I didn’t say I wouldn’t fight, just that the pledge becomes meaningless if the things that the flag represents are not what the pledge says.

I don’t think you are I a too far apart on this. One thing I want to clarify, I’m in favor of fighting to save the republic in terms of working to make sure that rule of law and core principles are maintained, but I would not want to take up arms against any state that votes to secede.

Fixed.
“...Texas could exercise the authority in the Texas Annexation Resolution and form four more states...”
You’re referring to a Texas constitution that no longer exists. Reconstruction changed all that. And even that constitution put limits on exercizing this option, I believe. In addition, the federal constitution, of which Texas is a signitory, forbids any state from being formed out of another.
That said, hit the federales repeatedly in the head with the 10th amendment until it begins to sink in.
And Obama and his co-conspirators would be saying “make my day!”
This would be all the emergency zero would need to shut down the internet, call in his in-house military,( just as big and just as well funded as the us military) and as Ayer’s people said, way back when, 25 million people might have to die in the US Communist revolution.
Don’t think these people haven’t thought ahead...they’ve planned this for decades.
Wasn't Friar Tuck a crazy Franciscan...?

Simple ... al the $$ that gets forwarded to DC via withholding would get redirected to Austin.
If you could borrow the money interest free, would you?
That is what he did and there is a limit to how long they can borrow it, but it is interest free from a time.
