Secessionist movement under way in Texas
Examiner ^

Posted on 08/28/2009 11:36:04 AM PDT by wk4bush2004

Fiercely independent and thoroughly horrified at the blatantly unconstitutional explosion of federal tyranny into every aspect of our lives, Texans are set to march on the state capitol in droves on Saturday. They will be delivering a million-strong petition to their elected officials based on the 10th Amendment, demanding an immediate constitutional confrontation with Washington.

If they are turned away or their concerns inadequately addressed, organizer Gerry Donaldson says they "will be forced to call for a vote for secession." This will not be the last time a state openly defies Obama's treasonous war on the Constitution.

Donaldson, who runs his own Internet radio show, says they are "calling for an orderly process that will allow our federal government to fall back in line with the Constitution." He continued, "Either we will restore America, we will live in a Marxist dictatorship, or we will secede and start over again."

Great talk, but nothing else. I won't believe it until I see a Concord or Lexington moment.

With our luck, Ma Richards would be Guvnah of ONE of those states. Kinky Friedman might be Guvnah of another one. Some BUSH or another might be in another, and before we know it we’re in a worse fix than before!

“I didn’t say I wouldn’t fight, just that the pledge becomes meaningless if the things that the flag represents are not what the pledge says.

For the record, I haven’t given up on the USA yet.”

I don’t think you are I a too far apart on this. One thing I want to clarify, I’m in favor of fighting to save the republic in terms of working to make sure that rule of law and core principles are maintained, but I would not want to take up arms against any state that votes to secede.

“...Texas could exercise the authority in the Texas Annexation Resolution and form four more states...”

You’re referring to a Texas constitution that no longer exists. Reconstruction changed all that. And even that constitution put limits on exercizing this option, I believe. In addition, the federal constitution, of which Texas is a signitory, forbids any state from being formed out of another.

That said, hit the federales repeatedly in the head with the 10th amendment until it begins to sink in.

And Obama and his co-conspirators would be saying “make my day!”

This would be all the emergency zero would need to shut down the internet, call in his in-house military,( just as big and just as well funded as the us military) and as Ayer’s people said, way back when, 25 million people might have to die in the US Communist revolution.

Don’t think these people haven’t thought ahead...they’ve planned this for decades.

Once Texas secedes and becomes its own nation, who will President Rick Perry go to when he needs to borrow 1.5 Billion Dollars?

Simple ... al the $$ that gets forwarded to DC via withholding would get redirected to Austin.

Considering Anne Richards died in 2006, it might be tough for her to become governor. But then again, we are talking about Democrats. The dead voting in the dead hardly seems implausible these days.

If you could borrow the money interest free, would you?

That is what he did and there is a limit to how long they can borrow it, but it is interest free from a time.

I would fight against secession as well.

Guess we'll see you on the battlefield .... which is a damn shame if it ever gets to that point fellow freepers. Unless you want to conclusively demonstrate that this republic is not broken beyond repair.

That’s my point. Most people I believe think the conservatives would gain a bunch of seats. I don’t because when you think about breaking up this state how do you do it and where do you put the South Texas, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso, etc. Outside of a fun exercise it will never happen as the Congress will never agree.

Money can be wasted in Austin just as fast as it can be wasted in DC.

I sincerely hope you never see me on the battlefield but that if you do, that we’re fighting on the same side. I would work and vote against secession, but I’m not in favor of taking up arms against any state that chooses to secede.

Thanks AAC!

So, here we go again, eh? The headline is a bit of hyperbole since Texas has ALWAYS had a secessionist movement going. ;^)

Anyway, pinging the 10th Amendment list to join in the discussion if you feel compelled.

Texas may be leaving the building?

Click the 10th Amendment button for articles tagged "10thamendment". A "statesrights" link is atop the forum page.

Please ~ping~ me to articles relating to the 10th Amendment/States Rights so I can engage the pinger.

I've stopped scouring threads and unilaterally adding names to the ping list, so if you want on or off the list just say so.

My son and his family live right outside Galveston. I wouldn’t mind going to visit them permanently!
