Secessionist movement under way in Texas
Examiner ^

Posted on 08/28/2009 11:36:04 AM PDT by wk4bush2004

Fiercely independent and thoroughly horrified at the blatantly unconstitutional explosion of federal tyranny into every aspect of our lives, Texans are set to march on the state capitol in droves on Saturday. They will be delivering a million-strong petition to their elected officials based on the 10th Amendment, demanding an immediate constitutional confrontation with Washington.

If they are turned away or their concerns inadequately addressed, organizer Gerry Donaldson says they "will be forced to call for a vote for secession." This will not be the last time a state openly defies Obama's treasonous war on the Constitution.

Donaldson, who runs his own Internet radio show, says they are "calling for an orderly process that will allow our federal government to fall back in line with the Constitution." He continued, "Either we will restore America, we will live in a Marxist dictatorship, or we will secede and start over again."

Texas will have a vote on secession.

That is nonsense.

“If the flag no longer represents a republic, or the Republic isn’t the items listed in the pledge, then the whole thing is null and void anyway.”

I simply see it differently than you, if things become as bad as you suggest they may, then I say we stand and fight to get our Republic back.

"... United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands...

What if the federal government goes to such lengths that we are no longer a republic?

Ah, so they flee the place they screwed up and then move to a place and then try to turn it into the dump they came from.

Liberalism is a disease; it’s pretty clear now.

We’ll all move to Texas and the liberals will be outnumbered and they can move back to the USSA.

and to the Republic for which it stands...
The Republic which the United States Flag stands for doesn't exist any more.
A democracy has subsumed it under false pretensions.
If you don't believe me then just ask almost any politician and they'll tell you directly, and unflinchingly, that America is a democracy.

Too late. As it is right now, Texas is will be a Democratic State in 10 to 12 years as the state demographics are shifting under the weight of the current population.

“No, what I pledge that allegiance to is a Republic represented by the flag, a Republic that is one nation with 50 States that provides liberty and justice to all.

That is not Barack Obama’s United States of America, not by any measure.”

The United States of America is a resilient republic, I believe we will survive having Barack Obama as president (even if we don’t flourish while he is in office), just as we have survived many other disastrous times.

Once Texas secedes and becomes its own nation, who will President Rick Perry go to when he needs to borrow 1.5 Billion Dollars?

“Texas may need to borrow $1.5 billion from feds”

If the dimrats actually followed the Constitution, then there wouldn’t be talk of seccesion. As for the plege being a lie, it would be if obama gets his way because the liberty and justice thing would be a thing of the past. He is acting more and more like a ruler than the President.

Back when Ann Richards was Governor, she was going to sign an EPA mandate which would have turned 1000’s of acres in West Texas into federally protected lands, making them worthless to the ranchers who owned them. 100’s if not 1000’s of ranchers and farmers and Texans showed up early in the morning and took up all of the parking spaces near the state capitol, eventually taking up all of the spaces in the city. Ann Richards suddenly decided that she didn't need to sign Gore's EPA directive. Politicians can sometimes get the message.

Myth, and unconsitutional at that. No state may be admitted to the union without the consent of congress. Furthermore, it doesn’t apply. Texas was re-admitted under reconstruction and that is the binding the agreement.

Please understand that I make my comments as no fan of this president, I could put together a very long list of grievances against him in short order. At the top of my list would be his deplorable treatment of our good ally Uribe in Columbia. Columbia is doing just about everything right in terms of being a true democratic republic, and yet our president treats them like crap while he wants to be great friends with idiots like Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro. And our president’s latest message to our good friends Poland and the Czech Republic is basically to tell them to drop dead, because we are now going to pull back on our promises to install missile defenses there. So I’m not at all happy with this president. Nevertheless, I maintain that the United States of America is stronger than Barack Obama, and we will survive him.

Or Texas could exercise the authority in the Texas Annexation Resolution and form four more states, giving Texas eight more senators and thus, at least eight more electoral votes.

Uh, no. Don't you remember a few years ago when the RATS threw a temper tantrum and ran off to hide in New Mexico over redistricting? First, they'd want one new state from the border counties which would then turn themselves over lock, stock, and barrel to some Mexican drug cartel. Next Sheila "Don't you know who I am" Jackson-Lee will demand her state be the biggest and have a plaque on the entrance gate with her name and picture on it. The third would be the libs in Austin with their state motto being "keep Austin weird" and move the capital to Hippy Hollow (nudist) and declare Lance Armstrong governor. The fourth state would be the rest of Texas. Hmmm, on second thought, that wouldn't be a bad idea after all!

I didn't say I wouldn't fight, just that the pledge becomes meaningless if the things that the flag represents are not what the pledge says.

For the record, I haven't given up on the USA yet.
