If You Hate Obummer Read This Now...

This without question is one of the most thought provoking articles I've ever read. After reading it I got the full article which is 17 pages in .pdf format and even more profound. (For the record I am in no way affiliated with Casey, David Galland, or Neil Howe). If you want to know whats happening with our country and how Obummer is able to manipulate, control, decieve, and cheat the American people this is for you.

Here's an excerpt:

A Casey Research interview with Neil Howe, co-author of The Fourth Turning

The Fourth Turning is an amazingly prescient book Neil Howe wrote with the late William Strauss in 1997. The work, which describes generational archetypes and the cyclical patterns created by these archetypes, has been an eye-opener to anyone able to entertain the notion that history may repeat itself. At the time the book was published, the Boston Globe stated, "If Howe and Strauss are right, they will take their place among the great American prophets."

DAVID GALLAND: Could you provide us a quick introduction to generational research?

NEIL HOWE: We think that generations move history along and prevent society from suffering too long under the excesses of any particular generation. Instead, every generation turns the corner and to some extent compensates for the excesses and mistakes of the midlife generation that is in charge when they come of age.

One example of the Hero archetype is the G.I. Generation, the soldiers of World War II, who became an institutional powerhouse after the war and then in old age confronted the young hippies and protesters of the 1960s. Going back in American history, we have seen many other Hero archetypes, for example the generation of Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison, and President Monroe.

I'm an argumentative type who enjoys having his positions and principals challenged. Feel free to fire away on this but I have a few thoughts to share...

One example of the Hero archetype is the G.I. Generation, the soldiers of World War II

The soldiers of WWII (not to mention the brave men and women of our armed forces overall) are certainly heros. I would never argue with that.

who became an institutional powerhouse after the war

To some extent - many more returned home, hid their scars, and continued as great people in their daily lives without the fanfare that some, particularly those that climbed into politcal office, strived for. Some of those that achieved politcal power lost, at least in my opinion, some of their hero status as they allowed socialism and facism- the things they sacrificed more than most people will ever know to stop, creep into our goverernment.

and then in old age confronted the young hippies and protesters of the 1960s.

Huh? No offense, but I have no clue where this assertion came from. How does an institutional powerhouse who apparently "confronted" whatever that means, let slide the initial series of attacks on the foundations of our nation?

Maybe they did and I missed it, but whatever the case, this institutional powerhouse allowed and or at least didn't have the power to stop massive expansions of government into our lives - driven primarily by the "hippies" this statement identifies.

My opinion is that this instituional powerhouse - as it ended up represented in our national leadership - gave ground and allowed a fledgling socialist movement to not only get a foothold on the social level, but within governmental institutions.

I don't know why, but have my opinons. Sick of fighting maybe? Desire to keep their political power? Inability to see subtle attacks on our nation after their more direct and immediate experiences? Not sure - probably a lot of factors.

What I do know now is that way too many of them (or at least their generation) now vote to make sure they get their piece of the handouts at the following generations expense.

I'll happily pay my share to support our vetrans.

I'll pay to settle up unwise promises (e.g., Social Security)

But when will the "archetypes" noted as the GI generation, and unfortunately this includes all those that weren't GIs, help me fix the mounting problems that at least "sneaked through" on their watch?
