Recently on ABC television news, one of their videos showed a U.S. Marine hunkered down in Afghanistan complaining on camera that he was not allowed to shoot back when under fire. This situation resulted from Obama’s new rules of engagement from his new Afghanistan commander. General McChrystal explained it to BBC news that they are now advising troops to break off from firefights with the Taliban, "If you are in a situation where you are under fire from the enemy... if there is any chance of creating civilian casualties or if you don't know whether you will create civilian casualties, if you can withdraw from that situation without firing, then you must do so”

they have to even sit and get killed when they can’t - as in this battle. They were pinned down, getting killed and were refused air cover EVEN THO the commander assured there were no civilians with the enemy -

As far as I am concerned, and I believe the majority of patriotic Americans would agree, there are only two options. Anything other than these two specific options is not an option:
1. Provide whatever it takes to complete the mission, period, without hamstringing our troops. Give them every single resource and then some, let them clean house and get home.
OR
2. Immediately fold up and come home. Period. No dilly-dally, no playing games. Just completely bail out. IMMEDIATELY.
Anything else will just cost us more US lives. Personally, we don’t need to give aid and comfort to the Taliban and AQ - which is what a full retreat would do. But if we are not going to fully support our fighting men and women, then we owe it to them to get them out of harms way, period. This is the exact same game played with Vietnam. There is no reason to repeat that mistake, but the liberals in this nation are Hell-bent on recreating that fiasco.
Such a shame to basically make the loss of life so far, meaningless.
We have a bonafied traitor in the White House. But we got what we deserved. There was enough info on 0bama long before the election to completely disqualify him from even THINKING about being elected. But our PC nation has turned into a bunch of pansies. obama, you know you are in way over your head. You are inept, unprepared, and lack the stones for this. Either resign for the good of the Country (please!) or at least leave the fighting and ROE up to military experts that know what they are doing. You have got to admit you do not, everyone else sees it.
If I were a field commander I would refuse to send my troops out on patrol under such ludicrous ROE. Either that, or I'd tell them engage the enemy where you find them, period. We'll worry about any civilian casualties later.

It's going up because we've increased OPTEMPO in Afghanistan rather than minimizing it so we could conduct operations in Iraq.
Further, if anybody has a problem with the ROE, they should vent their spleens upon Generals Petraeus and McChrystal.
Soon enough, the military too will become collateral damage in our stupid little war on everything Obama.
