Dean Denounces Rise of Anti-Science Attitudes
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 13 February 2010 | John Semmens

Posted on 02/13/2010 10:38:26 PM PST by John Semmens

Former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean called the mocking construction of an igloo labeled as “Al Gore’s new home” by Republicans “a demonstration of the worst form of anti-science I’ve seen in my lifetime.” The inspiration for the igloo was the worst snowstorm ever recorded in Washington DC.

“Ignorant people may think that they can look out the window or read a thermometer and know what the weather is,” Dean said. “They think that because they see it getting colder that it isn’t getting warmer. They are trusting their own observations over the research of eminent climate scientologists who’ve had years of training and billions of dollars in grant money to study the phenomenon and build the case for global warming.”

Dean blamed Republicans for “exploiting this ignorance for political gain. The notion that individuals can trust their own judgment over that of their scientific betters is an invitation to anarchy at a time when we all need to have faith in the scientists so we can pull together behind a common plan to save the planet.”

Imagine. How dare I trust my own eyes over those who depend on this being true to receive more research grants. LOL

Yes Dean, I’m a heretic in this religion of yours.

I wouldn’t call myself anti-science, but I’ve definitely lost my faith in satire to be more ludicrous than reality.

Always look for the humor angle. If you hadn’t warned me, I was this close to buying it.

The news is just about this absurd. Thus, humor.

John, until I saw your name on the byline, I was ready to lambaste that idiot Dean. Beautiful job! Keep ‘em coming!

Since Global Warming has been proven to be a fraud, Americans are not anti-science, just anti-JUNK science. Also, Americans are becoming more pro-life precisely because of science in the form of ultrasonic scans and the ability to preserve the lives of premature babies. Maybe Dean should go back to medical school since he doesn’t seem to be anywhere close to knowing the current state of science.

Dean Denounces Rise of Anti-Science Attitudes

Dean ain’t got historical perspective.

Some few generations ago, eugenics as a public policy was “scientific”.

And now “global warming” is “scientific”.

Even if Dean was decent physician...he’s clueless about the implementation
of science in enacting public policy.

What a total idiot!
Eminent is now a synonym for "notorious?"

"Scientologists?" Ha ha ha ha ha.

Billions of dollars in grant money? Taxpayer money?
Billions of dollars wasted?

Yes, this retard is actually asking,"Who are you going to believe? Criminal Fraudster researchers or your own eyes, senses and search of the historical record?"

Never mind the dozens of truly respected scientists who have debunked every AGW claim made in the last 20 years.

Yes, Howard Dean, you want us lowly subjects to live in your world of illusion like warm bodies for the Matrix--that Hopey Changy thing. You were that kid in my high school English lit class that read George Orwell's 1984 and fantasized about having sex with Julia and living in an Utopian world where Big Brother could free you of all your adolescent sexual desires. Forget about the Communism thing. That is a subject that the Howard Deans of the world find above their pay grade.

Satire for Dean, maybe. Truth for the gorbotrons. Hansen actually would, and has, said almost exactly this...along with others.
This is so close to real it’s more frightening than funny.
