Colin Powell made one of the more surprising and unexpected left turns in recent history.
Maybe it was just our general perception of the man, and the fact that he was a well-respected warrior who went on to be George Bush’s Secretary of State that made us feel that he was one of us.
His support of Obama is pretty inexplicable, in my opinion. I know that most have attributed that support to the fact that he’s a black man, but I suspect that the real reason isn’t that simple.
Whatever the reasons for his choice to support Obama, he made a terrible error in judgment. He’s hitched his wagon to a falling star.
Today, I wouldn't get up off the couch to walk into the next room to meet him.
Rush as well. His endorsement of The Nutty Professor only proves he was never a Republican.

It's amazing to see the mind dead blind loyalty of many Obama supporters because of this fact.
Colin was only where he was because he is BLACK.
The media felt the need to create a black hero after Gulf War I.
Colin was against almost everything that proved successful in that war but yet he got hero status for it.
He stood before the UN and told the world there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I believed him. Now, after many of our good men and women have died over there, he says he was wrong. He’s an azzclown if you ask me.
The media made him a hero because he is black. Sort of what they did for obama.
It isn't. It was race based and nothing else explains it.
Now that applies to more than I can list in this little space.
Colin was an affirmative action/Peter Principle champ from his days as a junior officer.

In the old army Powell would be known as a “horse holder”, only fit to hold a real generals horse! Powell was created for a specific role but he isn’t acting now.

According to many FReepers with high ranking military knowledge, his quick rise in the military was due to one fact: affirmative action. The same with his positions in the Bush administration: affirmative action.
