What The Press Isn't Telling You About the "Unrest" in Hebron

For the past three days the Palestinians have been protesting in the city of Hebron (Chevron in Hebrew). The reason, Israel added two West Bank sites to their "Heritage Sites" list, The Tomb of Rachel and the Cave of the Patriarchs.

This designation means that resources would be invested in infrastructure and in making holy sites more accessible to more worshipers. Israel would continue to uphold its policy of freedom of worship for all faiths. Hamas and Fatah are using the move to rile up the public saying that it is an Israeli takeover of their land. The Mainstream Media is describing it as a land grab by the Jewish State. This post will talk a look at the history the Press doesn't tell you about Hebron, (Rachel's Tomb will be covered in a different post).

The press is right about one thing, Hebron is occupied territory, but it is the Arabs who are the occupiers, not the Jews.

it is was the first piece of land ever purchased by the Jews in Israel. Approximately 38 centuries ago Avraham (Abraham) our forefather purchased a cave in in Chevron to bury his beloved wife Sarah. Jews have owned land in the city pretty much from then until the early part of the 20th century.

In 1929, all that changed. It began on Friday August 23rd

Shhhhh. But don't tell that to any leftist anti-semites, it might make them look silly.

When I went to Israel back in January of 1999 I thought I might go there but when I saw a travel video of the town I decided against it. I would only go there with a military escort.

========= Israel: Joseph's Tomb =========

Early destruction of Joseph's Tomb by Arab terrorists.

Then Joseph's Tomb, rerestored by Israel.

Joseph's Tomb, after the Arab and Palestinian terrorists
resavaged the site, as is their way.

I am sending this to a very Jewish, very liberal in-law who is a die hard Obama supporter. Not that it will penetrate.

This idiot is so ignorant she is cheering on Obama while he and his merry band of anti Semites plot the destruction of Israel. And not very secretively, it should be noted.

What is so incomprehensible to me is that this individual wears the mantle of Jewish oppression quite seriously. No persecution of Jews is unnoticed except that by Democrats and liberals.

Well, you’re a braver man than I. As much as I’d like to see the Holy Land, I simply am too afraid to do so. Then again, given the proliferation of the Islamic nutter hordes in Europe, I’m having second thoughts about ever going there either, and may just stay put right here in North America from now on.

Netanyahu is making amends for having given Hebron away in his last administration. Good work.

The danger is a misconception. Most areas are quite safe and the ones that are not (like Rachel’s Tomb) are usually available by armed escort.
