Lost...The End

After 6 seasons of clues, hints, games, deaths, births, monsters, polar bears, submarines and time travel, along with all around weirdness, television's most innovative show, Lost, comes to an end on Sunday night, concluding the Final Chapter.

And I couldn't be happier.

Don't get me wrong. I am totally addicted to Lost. Actually, this has been the only show I have religiously watched over the last couple years, as my life has become busier. I always loved T.V., but simply don't have the time anymore.

But I always make time for Lost.

TiVo or torrent... there is no longer any reason to schedule your life around tv

of course, not watching is another possibility. personally, I still watch a select few shows... but on my schedule... and without commercials

if you download... look into getting either the popcorn-hour or wdtv... you’ll thank me later. :)

I really hope they pull it together in the end, but I’ve prepared myself for some disappointment. The “man of faith” in me says... they could still make the finale awesome somehow, but the “man of science” in me says they’ve dropped the ball this season and aren’t likely to get back on track now.

I too hope Ben is “conning” old Smokey. After all, when Ben gets all calm and coy like he did last episode, it usually means he is secretly planning to kill you.

I still believe the real John Locke will return.

there is something to be said of joint viewership...knowing that everybody is watching and experiencing the same emotions...

we do record stuff....but we really like watching it "live" so to speak...like the news or football or a telethon.....

I don’t like watching anything live anymore because I’ve gotten so use to skipping through commercials. When it comes to news programs, I skip over Obama, Tiger Woods, Hollywood news, etc.

My husband quit watching after the first season so I TiVo and watch it by myself.

I love this show too although the crying scenes get on my nerves.

Well, I should have been more clear...I use my DVR. I don’t sit and watch anything other than sports real time...

Lost junkie here.

It’s been the “water cooler” topic around my office for years.

And, come Monday, it’ll be done. Over.

Until the movie comes out...

I have come to the conclusion that Lost is nothing more than a poorly written soap opera with time travel!

If you enjoy it, good for you.

Once people started coming back from the dead routinely and yet they didn’t really, I decided the writers were making it up on the fly.

It was a great concept and had some great characters, but they should have had a master plot before they started.

Like the Star Wars franchise. Same problem.

According to the writers, they DID have a master plot before starting....and we are watching it.

Yes and no. They had a plot, but they didn’t think it would ever get picked up for more than 12 episodes, they admitted as much. So when it was a hit, they had to write a bunch of stuff in between the beginning and the original end they had planned. Not to mention all the other changes they did on the fly, such as not killing Jack, killing off Eko, making Desmond and Ben recurring characters, the entire “flash sideways” thing, etc.

“According to the writers, they DID have a master plot before starting....and we are watching it.”

I know that is what they say, but after watching the first three seasons I frankly don’t believe them.

Lucas was supposed to have nine installments of Star Wars, too, and I don’t believe him either!

Season 6 has ben a mess. I am literally “lost” in the plot line. They could have brought it all to an end by season 4.

I always wonder about people who complain about shows. If they don’t like them, don’t watch them. They are entertainment, they are not enlightenment. I don’t expect my entertainment to be perfect, I don’t care if it has holes in it, I just want it to give me some relief from the freak show that is daily life. Lost does that, it gives me something to try to think about sometimes, and that’s enough for me.
I think they’ve done a pretty good job of tying it up without any big gaping holes, it’s made pretty good sense (altho I admit I have forgotten a lot of stuff and don’t care enough to go back and fact check them—people who do need to get a life! LOL). But, heck, some people spend a lifetime studying Lewis Carrols works or Shakespear, show, whatever floats someone’s boat is ok with me. I just get tired of the crankies who want to complain about people who enjoy something. (well, unless it’s child porn or something).

Only two people kind of came back from the dead, not really a routine. Now thanks to the flash back structure of the show many dead characters still appeared in episodes after they died, but it was always chronologically before their death.
