One Loud Jew Sends Media Spinning
Publius Forum ^ | 08/30/10 | Warner Todd Huston

The newest faux outrage comes from the mouth of controversial Jewish Rabbi Ovadia Yousef. In a sermon from Israel, Rabi Yousef as much as called for God to commit genocide against the so-called Palestinians. I say "as much as" because he didn't actually call for genocide, but he came awfully close for comfort. In fact, even as he didn't say it explicitly it’s hard not to see it being implied.

"Abu Mazen and all these evil people should perish from this earth," said Rabbi Yosef, head of the Israeli Shas party. "God should strike them and these Palestinians -- evil haters of Israel -- with a plague," he added.

Naturally, the Palestinians are outraged and Reuters, the Associated Press, and other news outlets are playing the story for all its worth. By Monday it'll likely be everywhere....

While one Jew makes a fool of himself, the media goes wild for it. At the same time the media ignores the same if not worse behavior by "Palestinians" on a daily basis.

Maybe the media thinks the Jews are better than that. The Palestinians and their kind are always saying stuff like that, so it’s nothing new.

I am unaware that anything he said was foolish. He’s quite right. Perhaps ill-timed and impolite, but correct.

(And no, I am not Jewish.)

Not daily. Hourly, or maybe even minute by minute. Pali’s are a media protected class.

Ovadia Yousef has obviously not read the rules on politically correct speech.

It is against those rules to wish that God would destroy evildoers.

He doesn’t- like Islam- ask or command his followers to do anyone harm, he wishes God will do what both Jews and Christians- and maybe even Muslims- hold as God’s righteous decision to destroy evil- as in Sodom and Gomorrah.

I guess the debate then turns on whether the Jihadist barbarians are evil. Oh, now I’m violating 21th Century politically correct rules- never call evil evil if Islam is involved.

The “palestinians” are outraged....naturally...

I think what amazes me more than anything is the blatant, bald-faced, jumping-up-and-down, neon-lit, screaming and in your face, hypocrisy and double standards. And not a ONE of them on the left or in these middle eastern third world toilets has the tiniest scrap of embarassment.

How many times a day do you wonder if you have dropped down a rabbit hole?

I find it funny how fearful the left really is of God. Its as if the devils in them quake. Since most liberals don't even believe there is a God let alone Jehovah, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, why should they care if a religious leader prays for a plague. It's not like he called for warfare against them by the Army or private citizens.
The truth is the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through the Holy Ghost. I pray the Psalms daily and they pray for vengeance throughout.
As a matter of fact Psalms 149 tells me that by praising God I will execute vengeance on the heathen and punishments upon the people, I am binding their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron, I am executing the judgment on them written, this honor has all Gods saints.
It's not my judgment but God's.

Yeah, it's strange how the Palestinians get a pass - and the Jews NEVER do... makes one wonder...

Oh - and conservative Americans never get a pass either - just liberals. Connections... must stay on the surface...

Is that why liberals get a pass and conservatives don’t? One standard for the MSM’s “teachers’ pets” and one for the rest of us? Eff ‘em. Eff the MSM.

‘Oops, did that come out of my mouth?’

Not really sure where he said anything wrong.

The Religion of Islam must be exterminated by any means necessary.

Yes, perhaps he should have waited until the next nail bomb goes off on a Jewish school bus.

From what I read in the Bible of what will happen to anyone who comes against Israel the Rabbi is letting them off rather lightly.

I wonder how many critics have read the Psalms?

There are psalms called the" Imprecatory psalms" are those those psalms that contain curses or prayers for the punishment of the psalmist's enemies. To imprecate means to invoke evil upon, or curse. Psalms 7, 35, 55, 58, 59, 69, 79, 109, 137 and 139 all contain prayers for God's judgment on the psalmist's enemies. Example imprecatory statements from the Psalms follow:

Psalm 55:15 - Let death take my enemies by surprise; let them go down alive to the grave.
Psalm 58:6 - O God, break the teeth in their mouths.
Psalm 69:28 - May they be blotted out of the book of life and not be listed with the righteous.
Psalm 109:9 - May his children be fatherless and his wife a widow.
Psalm 137:9 - How blessed will be the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks.

Seems to me the Rabbi was on solid scriptural grounds
