DUmmie FUnnies 09-05-10 (DUmmie Assaulted by Conservative Books at Costco)
DUmmie FUnnies ^ | September 5, 2010 | DUmmies and PJ-Comix

Posted on 09/05/2010 10:05:12 AM PDT by PJ-Comix

We recently saw how the DUmmies were offended by being even briefly EXPOSED to Fox News in public places resulting in their efforts to "Turn Off Fox." Well now they are angry about seeing conservative books prominently displayed at Costco as you can see in this THREAD, "Book selection at Costco: what the heck?" Actually they picked a poor target since Costco is run by a couple of Democrats. However, even they have to bow to public demand which wants CONSERVATIVE books. So let us now watch the DUmmies desiring to burn conservative books in Bolshevik Red while the commentary of your humble correspondent, still waiting for that phone call from Mary Matalin, is in the [brackets]:

Book selection at Costco: what the heck?

[Stand by for more DUmmie censorship fantasies!]

I just got back from stocking up on Charmin and Bounty at the local Costco. Their book selection was completely, totally far right-wing. They have stacks and stacks of Going Rogue, Atlas Shrugged, and The Overton Window.

[My paper towels and TP cost me NOTHING. Coupons.]

I finally spotted a book with President Obama on the cover. It was "Culture of Corruption" by Michelle Malkin.

[LOL! Relief followed by instant disappointment.]

What the heck? Does Costco have a right-wing agenda? Or is it just because I live in Texas?

[It's because you live in your own little universe. And now to hear from your fellow DUmmies...]

Costco has a track record of contributing to the Dem Party (for the most part).

[Too bad for you they are also guided by the EVIL profit motive which means they must stock up on conservative books.]

ALL the warehouse stores have huge amounts of rightwing nonsense in their book selections.

[EEK! Send in the Thought Police!]

Costo headquarters are in liberal Washington State. And I believe the founders are two Dems. I don't think the founders examine every book choice, and as they are a retail outlet, they're going to stock what sells in their area. I prefer to think that stacks of conservative books means that they're not flying off the shelves and into the hands of avid readers. I mean, lots of tea partiers can't, or don't, read.

[I hope you feel comforted by that fantasy.]

The book selection at my Costco is all right-wing trash. And it's in California.

[San Francisco Bay?]

maybe they have a whole bunch because they thought they would sell but aren't and that's why there are plenty.

[Maybe you are clinging a bit too hard on that desperate hope.]

And I go in to that Spokane store and flip them over when I can!

[This DUmmie is like that woman in "Absence of Malice" who desperately picked up all the newspapers from her neighbor's lawns.]

I'd complain with the store manager that there are too much right-wing crap on the book selection, and need to be balanced out.

[And the store manager should reply by having you escorted out.]

I think Costco should modify their book purchasing policy and buy 1/4 of the right-wing crap and buy more liberal stuff and spread it out.

[Spread it out and then dump the liberal books in the remainders bin.]

I'd hate to have to stop shopping there. Their frozen tequila-lime tilapia is to die for. But the imbalance on that book table was just ridiculous.

[I bet I get better deals on tilapia and everthing else with my coupons. FUn Fact: PJ recently bought LARGE Right Guard BO sticks for just 12 cents each. You don't get that deal at Costco.]

I was somewhat under the impression Costco was a "blue company" which is why I would be surprised to learn it was a national thing.

[Rightwing books are EVERYWHERE!!!]

Not just Costco - I noticed the same thing in SAMS last week

[GASP!]

DU is a minority group who often seems to thinks it the majority

[You will find your Kewpie Doll on aisle 2 of your local Costco.]

What you do is you just take a book from the next pile and gently place it over the top of the pile of right wing crap. Then you do the same for each volume of garbage you find. Sometimes it's a good idea to put two books on each pile, that way when someone picks up the top book they won't notice the wing nut shit underneath. I once buried a whole stack of sarah palin books at the bottom of the adjacent piles. Childish? Bet you ass. But I had fun doing it.

[DUmmie "intellectualism" on full display.]

The DUmmie couldn’d find the latest book on Marxism so he has to throw a fit.

Books are like gasses. They expand to fill all of the available space.

This is why the wife and I are making the shift to electronic books.

I hate having to give up a beloved book when there in no way to fit more in the house.

What a fine example of left wing "tolerance." Since the can't kill the messenger they suppress the message.

Delusion is usually their first fallback. I was really expecting somewhere along the line for a Dummie to claim that they buy both liberal and conservative books equally, but alas, the liberal books sell out as fast as they arrive.

Since they didn't do that, one has to suspect that they know that most liberal books are off to the clearance outlet within weeks of release. So once delusion is abandoned, it is next on to obfuscation. As exampled, they hide it, pretend to others it's not there.

Step three for a Dummie is diversion, to blame others. The store manager orders too much of it, they can't get liberal books cheap enough, everything else is to blame, but the message itself.

The final step is to whine. Because it is so tightly tied with diversion, it is hard to tell when they are in whine mode until they start blaming that which they are trying to protect. Bill's book isn't selling because of that stupid sex stuff, Al Gore's not doing enough to promote his movie, etc.

In a Dummie's universe, every issue, thought, and ideal is set entirely in stone. And anything that tilts those tablets makes for a violent reaction. Women in politics are prefered. Unless it's a conservative female, who is just delusional. Except Sarah Palin who is just some idiot housewife who thinks she knows more than she really does. Which is completely sexist and bigoted, but it's ok, because it's against an adversary, and don't you dare claim it against one of theirs...

I won't convert to ebooks until I'm confident that I will actually own the books I buy. As long as they have DRM (Digital Rights Management), all you are actually buying a limited-use license to the book.

Remember when Amazon removed everyone's copy of "1984" from their Kindles?

LOL. I always pile conservative books on TOP of libby books—had a field day leaving Sarah Palin’s smilin’ face all over the place awhile back! :-)

I also turn over/around books with MO and BO’s mugs grinning out at us :-p And no, it’s not because of their color! D’oh. I HATE THEIR POLITICS AND WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO AMERICA THAT MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR. Period.

You make some good points, Johnny.

I do love my reader, though. So easy to carry around (I have an older Sony and it's small).

I thought I'd miss holding a book. I don't. So nice to not have to hold the pages open when reading. But I get that a lot of people really like having the books to be able to turn the pages.

That’s sooo funny! I bet that peeeesed the leftists off!

My hubby was so nice and brought the Sarah book home to me, but I was sad that I missed out on my little ritual, lolol.

I have to say that at our Costco -— granted it’s on the more conservative side of town -— there are more stacks of conservative books than libs... like 5:1. But I think it’s because “our” books are on the bestseller lists more often?

I like the colors brown, black, white, so on, but I HATE RED!!! As in COMMIE RED!

Lol, I have a master’s in English.

My wife is a big coupon fiend as well. She’ll walk into a supermarket, buy $70 worth of stuff and walk out paying $20.

BWAHAHA! Never mind the surveys which show Tea Partiers have more education, better jobs, and are more financially secure than the norm, not to mention the DUmmies living in their mommies' basements.

And, PJ, hon, I read your posts about couponing all the time and I have to ask, just how much deodorant do you have??

More than enough to last a year. The rest were barter chips. BTW, since my last post, I picked up a couple of dozen Wisk detergents. 20 already traded out and 4 I kept. Will pick up about 300 more this week.

Hmmm... Barter for a Kindle reader...and then barter for Amazon gift cards to buy books with. BTW, does Amazon even have gift cards? I know eBay does.

My wife is a big coupon fiend as well. She’ll walk into a supermarket, buy $70 worth of stuff and walk out paying $20.

If she used the $10 off $50 coupon, she would only be paying $10. And then there are those situations where YOU get paid for buying free stuff but that is for extreme couponers. I did that last a couple of months ago. I got 6 FREE bottles of body wash PLUS $6.40 worth of store credit whenever I made that "purchase."

>>I would rather create a fresh meal for 8 bucks or take out my own frozen cooking in a pinch for free.<<

I just cut my first loaf of bread that I made using this method:

http://www.artisanbreadinfive.com

It was great and really that easy. I think we’re going to be having fresh bread every night now.

I don’t know, or get a kickback from, the authors (I wish!). It’s just so good, and so easy, that I’m going to start pushing it on everyone.
