Yes, Yes, and Yes! I've been saying this for awhile now. West doesn't compromise and he hammers Obama and the Dems every chance he gets. He's the real deal! Of course the Establishment would fight against West tooth and nail because he's not politically correct.

....looking towards 2012, we feel that Lt. Colonel Allen West is an excellent choice to be Governor Palin’s running mate in 2012.
It’s far, far too early to lock-in completely…and Lt. Colonel West needs to win his election to Congress first…with the key variable following regarding what he does while in Congress between his swearing-in in 2011 and the time in 2012 when Governor Palin accepts the Republican nomination and announces her VP pick.

Oh for God’s sake, get him elected and give him the chance to prove he’s congressional material first before you annoint him to the Oval Office.

It’s refreshing to see great Americans such as West and Gibson not only be willing to run for public office, but to run for an office that is actually achievable (instead of making their first (or in West’s case, second) run a quixotic one for the Senate or something).

Personally, I'd run for city counsel, mayor or school-board. I believe the responsibility of an O-6 Army COL or Navy Captain is eqivilent to a congressman's.
