In two years, a fearful turn in Obama's speeches

Reporting from Portland, Ore. — With the 2008 Democratic primary race all but won, Barack Obama appeared at a massive outdoor rally here and delivered a message that was unique by the cutthroat standards of American political campaigns.

"We're not going to worry about what other folks are doing," Obama told a crowd of 75,000 at the waterfront event in May 2008. "We're going to try to focus on what we think we can do for America."

Obama returned to Portland on Wednesday night and delivered a different sort of speech. His message of national unity and reconciliation had been replaced by a stark warning against cynical Republican tactics, vague threats to America's political system and the urgent need to keep the GOP marginalized.

There was less hope, more fear.

Obama conveyed much the same message Thursday during a rally in Seattle, and the appeal is not expected to vary significantly as he campaigns in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Minneapolis over the next two days.

Obama in Portland suggested that "foreign-controlled corporations" were bankrolling a "misleading, negative" ad campaign that serves Republicans, but offered no evidence.

"We don't know," he said.

Whereas his 2008 speech said that Americans needed to "start trusting each other again, start working together again," he said at the Oregon Convention Center rally this week that even if Republicans cooperate more with the White House, they would be forced to "sit in the back seat."

...and the urgent need to keep the GOP marginalized.

we are about to witness the first President to have a nervous breakdown while in office

--------------------------

Let him crack up. Give him a medical discharge! But, one way or another, it's time to end the experiment brought on by the piss-steam media and the Bush derangement crowd.

Kick the bums out, repeal the empty suit's policies, cut taxes, cut entitlements, cut the red tape, cut the budget by 33% [except defense], close the border and kick all illegals out.

obama - commie red devil

I agree and have thought for some time he that he is about to go round the bend...this will be something to see him taken out of the WH in a white jacket blubbering like the insane, narcissist that he is. There are not words to describe the disgust I have for this person.

This COMMUNIST SON OF A WHORE has a cousin named FIDEL CASTRO ODINGA and went to Kenya in 2006 to campaign for his commie cousin Rail Odinga (FIDELS DADDY)who lost the election but set his supporters to murder the winners to the point that they agreed to share power.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES AND HIS PARTY ARE COMMUNIST MONSTERS.

Prepare accordingly.

Yes, this is surprising to hear coming from the LA Times, which is only very very slightly less liberal than the San Francisco Chronicle.

I don’t believe this is an accurate statement. I have read several reports that, in fact, Carter had a nervous breakdown, but WH staff was able to cover it up.

The truth is: We are about to witness the first President to have a PUBLIC nervous breakdown while in office.

But--but--he said we can absorb another attack.

Now--doesn't that make you feel all better?

It’s like he doesn’t even care about Presidential decorum anymore.

Has he ever?

Here’s a comment from the linked article page:

“The left-wing Open Society Foundations is donating 1.8 million to NPR for a project being called “Impact of Government.” The project is planning to add at least 100 reporters across the country to cover local state house politics to fill the holes left by the firing of so many local reporters due to the contraction in the field of journalism over the last decade. Open Society Foundations was founded by foreign billionaire George Soros.

NPR is now funded for local Politburo representatives...”

SO is the MSM worried about how to spin the election and the Obama Administration if there aren’t enough leftie reporters on scene? BYOR means BRING YOUR OWN REPORTER? Wonder when this takes effect? And by that I mean, is this part of the effort to claim that the election was stolen? Just like the urban legend of Bush stealing the election from Kerry?

The liberal globalists can’t be happy that Obama is opening up a political avenue for the American opposition questioning the role foreign business and economic interests play in our power structure and government.

The first unruly questions would be why is the Fed using our money to bail out the world’s banks and how is it to the US’s advantage to be tied into UN trade agreements that force competition with third world labor forces and living standards? Given Obama fully supports the US being under the rule of world government and those interests placed Obama in power, foreign economic interest baiting is proff that Obama is more petty than he is “smart.”

At least President Carter only gave one malaise speech.

The Kenyan usurper is making these a hallmark of his maladministration.

Maybe it’s time for the LAT to write a story about those tapes they sat on during the 2008 campaign.
