It's almost BEYOND Meltdown Mode. This has been coming on for a while now: The DUmmies' utter disappointment in their erstwhile true love, Barack Obama. And now with this betrayal on taxes, he's gone from Obamassiah to Judas Isbarryot. For the CENTERPIECE of the Obama campaign was his pledge to punish the rich by raising their taxes. But now. . . . Oh, well!
So the DUmmies are beyond disenchantment. They are, in some sense, even beyond seething rage--they've been there for some time now. But this, what we saw today--this moves them into more of a settled opposition. The talk now is of primarying B.O. in 2012.
As you might expect, today's cave-in on the tax deal has pushed DUmmieland decidedly over the edge. We're getting the "early returns" tonight, and it's not pretty. The threads are just building up, even as we speak, so tonight I'll pick and choose from a variety of posts--there are tons to choose from--both General Discussion: Presidency THREADS and General Discussion THREADS. And I'm guessing PJ will have more for you in the days to come.
So let us now don our asbestos suits and enter the fiery furnace that is DUmmieland, in Bolshevik Red, while the commentary of your humble guest correspondent, Charles Henrickson, having more DU threads to look at than you could possibly imagine, is in the tax [brackets]:

There was this real douche on a local TV station tonight screeching about the tax cuts for the rich and he demanded to know how they were going to be paid for! Sheesh, this is the new mantra of the Liberals - how to “pay” for something that hasn’t been income for over 10 years - no one was sitting 10 years ago saying “ok now, we have to plan on the INCOME from when these tax cuts expire in 10 years” -

For crying out loud. For a bunch of elitists who are smarter than the rest of us, they have a rotten site. I went over there for the first time in a long time to see the meltdown. It is a pile of sh@t. The whole site is a mess. You can’t easily read the threads.
And for a bunch of Leftist anti corporate nitwits, they have so much advertising for these evil entities that you can’t follow what’s going on.

I noticed that too. I think with Obama's announcement being later in the day, and then they've got to watch their MSNBC shows, and what with DUmmieland posting being more of a late-night affair anyway, that's why it took a while for the reaction to come in. Also, it's been diffused over a number of threads, rather than just a few.
liberals are not happy people.
The base really wanted those tax hikes to go through ... and they worked so hard to get them ... and to lose it all. What a shame when political dreams die.
