Since I voted for Ronald Reagan in 1984, I have cast six presidential ballots - all for Republicans, but in every instance with my thumb and forefinger clasped firmly on my nose. My two votes for Reagan were offered up enthusiastically, optimistically and with confidence that I was voting for a candidate devoted to individual liberty, Constitutional faithfulness, American exceptionalism and free market principles. In my six votes since (four Bushes, a Dole and a McCain), I knew without doubt that the person for whom I was voting did not come remotely close to matching Reagan's belief in the ideals I just cited. Of course, in each case, my candidate appeared substantially more palatable than the egalitarian, statist-obsessed leftist that the Dems put up - so the choice was foreordained; although, in the end, it felt like a choice between an uber liberal and liberal lite. Therefore, in some sense, it didn't matter that much who won as the victor continued to lead America down the path toward Euro-socialism, multiculturalism, moral degeneracy and economic calamity.
(snip)
Within the field there are definitely several candidates who appear worthy of the mantle worn by Reagan. Two in particular are very attractive to me: Jim DeMint and Mike Pence.....

The left hated Christine O'Donnell. Did that fact make her a worthy candidate?
They don’t have to have anything, they can just make it up like they did with Sarah. There are three basic themes the MSM uses to attempt to hurt conservatives:
Theme 1: Stupid
Theme 2: Mean
Theme 3: Nuts.
I think they would likely go with theme 2 on DeMint, and if that failed, theme 3. They did the mean theme on Gingrich and were quite successful. They tried stupid on Reagan but that fell flat even though many libs still think he was stupid. They are still trying stupid on Sarah but it is failing and I expect them to soon go to theme 2 or 3.
We just did that in Michigan. Four conservatives and a RINO. The RINO won the nomination and the governorship.
This blogger doesn't seem to favor Huckabee at all, so maybe he supported the Huckster in 08?
I love DeMint. Mike Pence is a fine conservative, but not for president. Try replacing Lugar or running for governor.
I have all but decided that he's Chris Matthews. Men give him tingles, he's wild about 'em -- women, forget it about it. A head fake now and then. dadt...lol.
that’s also how we got schwartz a couple terms back. fortunately when he faced off one on one next time around with a conservative he got stomped.
Oh-Noes!!
McCain't is running again???

The short answer is "Yes."
Although...I really do like John Bolton.
For once I can agree with your selection, and will not negatively comment on your urine covered, insect crawling, hole living existence.
Please do not spoil this moment of comity by a negative comment on the love of my life.
Can you actually copyright a photoshop you create by stealing two other people’s pictures and putting them together?
Gravie-bull shit, When she walks in a rooms. She is the smartest! You don't have to be in politics to be a great leader: Washington!
I was around for Reagan and Palin is Reagan in High Heels! But she is better looking, Reagan was not in his prime.
Palin is quicker in getting her words out than any politician in the last 50 years, this is a sign she says what she believes!
Finally, someone who tells the Truth!
Some people seems to think a woman cant run this country, thats another reason why she needs to be the first woman President!
She would do a lot to hurt the men having sex with men lifestyle,
Normal would be back in again!
Thats probably the biggest reason that the anti Palin freepers keeping spurring out all the same negatives Reagan lived with, yes, our token liberal democrats and with their sick lifestyle)!
No, not really, Mr Lakeshark. Thank you for asking.
ok, thanks for the reply.
:)
Don't get me started on Snyder...I just get very mad all over again.
Cackle. Thanks.
If Goldman Sachs hands Romney the GOP candidacy, I suggest writing in Palin.
There would be beautiful symmetry in light of the recent Alaska election shenanigans.
The leftist Bill Mahr paid her to be on his show to make people laugh at the silly christian conservative! She was a paid punching bag for the left. She was highly useful to them in Delaware this year, and will most likely be “the gift that keeps on giving” to them, as her unspent million will no doubt keep her in the media spotlight and out of a job.
