Airhead extraordinaire Katie Couric suggested the idea of a Muslim version of 'The Cosby Show' to bring Islam into the mainstream. If the episodes were to be true to Islam, I wondered, what would the show be like? (Taken from the actual Cosby Show synopsis)

Teaching a conditional moral system through religious worship results in moral chaos. No Muslim is trustworthy because their religion does not require trustworthiness.
As individuals, some are not a problem. As a whole, they are all a problem.
The problem is with the books upon which their religion is based. The koran and hadiths are manuals to destroy, enslave, and degrade people that don't bend the knee to their god. Women 'believers' are treated like cattle, and unbelievers can sign up as being 2nd class citizens (or slaves), or dead.
I agree that some sects seem to be fairly tame. I don't know what the deal is with the Sufis. They seem not to cause problems, and they just like to twirl around... Maybe all their twirling keeps them too dizzy from actually reading their books.
But any muslim who actually gets that 'old time religion' and reads their koran and wants to live it -- they are on the mayhem bandwagon. Thank God most muslims don't read their books -- but I suspect many (if not most) are at least sympathetic to their more 'religious' brethren.
The episode where they shoot the neighbor’s filthy dog is sure to be a knee slapper!
I’ll go along with the idea ONLY when Katie Couryuck wears a burka, lowers her eyes in the presence of men, and encourages other liberal rag women to walk 10 paces behind their husband while in public.

The Cosby show was great. There was no racism in it at all. It was good entertainment for ALL. Blacks DID suffer from racism.
The jihadi crowd DID NOT suffer from racism or discrimination, in spite of what was done in the name of their ideology to thousands of innocent people.
If they have a bad public image it’s because they DESERVE it!
You really have to look into the Wahhabis. They are being set up in mosques, prisons and madrassas all over the world by Saudi Arabia. This is being done cynically to get them away from the Saudi royal family.
So basically growing literacy in the Muslim world means growing ol’ time extremism if the reader chooses to read the Koran.

What Would Katie Couric’s Muslim Cosby Show Look Like?
1) Network TV would portray the Muslim family a victim of Christian prejudice.
2) Females as male property would be totally ignored.
3) Dad would be a doctor working for a non profit that caters to the inner city, while mom would work for an ‘social justice’ organization
4) The family would be much whiter in skin color than typical middle easterner types
5) Capitalism would be shown to be evil.
6) The children would be very popular in their school environment with several of their converting to Islam during the show.
7) Not ONE gay would be shown so not to offend Islam
8) The family would be vegetarian in diet and maintain a green household.
9) The eldest male would be best friend with a black hip-hop rapper from a wealthy household who incorporate the Koran into his lyrics.
10) The show would NEVER leave the confines of an urban element.
11) Obama would be prominently referenced.
12) Most jokes would be aimed at Sarah Palin or some other conservative.
13) A Very Special Episode would be a flashback show where the family remembers 9-11 and how the family has stones thrown at their home, their car covered in Graffiti and the dad was threatened with death by some red-neck.
Every report was ended with “death to America”, followed by both telling the female to shut up when she started to squeek out a response.
Funny as all get out.
I agree that the Wahhabis are the zealots, but they are merely reading their books and trying to 'live it' - by spreading death and mayhem - and as you noted, actively recruiting others to join their club. The Saudis fund these activities, and we ignore it.
The other sects may not be as overtly dangerous at this time, but as long as they are basing their beliefs off of the satanically inspired koran - they are ticking time-bombs. The West chooses to ignore this, so not as to offend:
'All religions are equal'... 'All religions have their zealots'... 'The islamic terrorists are misinterpreting their scriptures' ... 'blah' and 'blah'...
The advantage to an increase in literacy, is that the people might read something else, besides the koran. Hopefully the Bible.
