Neil Abercrombie admitted to close friend and reporter Mike Evans - there is no records of Obama's birth in Hawaii.

That has to be a backtrack. That is not at all the context Evans was speaking in. It was pretty clear he was not reading an article aloud, because he was asking the Gov. Questions and getting answers. I think this is spin control. Mike went off the reservation and is trying to CYA.

If you haven't listened to the entire interview I posted, you should.

The impression I got was that Evans had no idea what he was getting himself into. He’s over his head on the subject matter...he didn't know who Stanley Dunham was.

At first he tried to deny he ever said he spoke to Neil, but the host kept playing the recording, and Evans finally had to admit that his statement was misleading. He repeatedly emphasized that he has not spoken to Abercrombie since the Obama inauguration.

yes he admitted he hadnt spoked diretly to abercrumb but that he spoke to abercrumbs office. Where is the denial from Abercrumbie, how long before that comes out? Lying is poervasive in our nation now.

Evans' effort to backtrack now is because Obama’s goons have got to him. There is no way he did not know what he was talking about. What he really means to say is that he didn't realize the significance of what he said. Where has he been in the last three years to legitimately claim he knows nothing about the birth certificate issue. His denials are a crock and ring hollow. Reminds me of the adage: Oh what terrible webs we weave, when first we practice to deceive.

I think the wheels have come off the wagon and the Gov's recent time in the light is someone's trial balloon, but whose?

If you're running the democrat party and you can see where the eligibility issue is going, you're probably trying to come up with a way to distance yourself from obama and somehow save the party.

If, before the fan gets dirty, you can get out in front of the BC issue in such a way as to show that you were trying to do the right thing but were stopped by the WH, you almost look like a whistle-blower.

And, if you then officially learn that you were fooled by obama himself, along with everyone else...well, might be a way to make the best of a very bad situation, even save yourself and the party. While saving the Constitution and country. The game is afoot.

It would make MORE sense to say it right off the bat.... Why would Evans burn his friendship with Neil.... make a false statement, then back track and say the conversation didn’t happen?

Evans started the interview denying ever saying he spoke to Neil. The host played the recording of Evans saying "Neil said". After a couple more attempts by Evans, insisting he never said it...he finally had to acknowledge he said it, but that in truth, all he did was leave a message with office staff, and hasn't heard back from Neil or anyone else.

I personally think Evans is a Hollywood reporter who isn't used to having this level of scrutiny and is having to backtrack because, if he didn't in fact talk to Neil, it would eventually come out anyway.

I'm undecided as to what role Abercrombie is playing in this little drama.
