Murder on the ATF’s doorstep?

On December 14th, Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed in an Arizona border shootout, presumably with Mexican illegals. Homeland Security head Janet Napolitano eulogized him a week later, saying “he put service before self, which is the mark of heroism.”

After the Arizona shootings the Left gleefully blamed conservatives from Palin to Rush and pushed new gun legislation of all kinds. But although Big Sis herself flew to the scene of Terry’s death, took over the investigation, promised justice and quick action and later presented his eulogy, the legacy media and liberal politicos throughout the nation have fallen silent. No one blamed, no new gun legislation demanded.

In fact, the ATF-proposed Long Gun Registry for the border states of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, supported by liberals everywhere and to have gone into effect on January 5th has been suddenly discarded. The funding necessary to implement the program has been REFUSED the ATF by the White House Budget Office. So what happened? Why has this crisis been permitted to go to waste?

In 2005, the ATF created Project Gunrunner, “…to stem the flow of firearms into Mexico and to drug gangs.” But there is one small problem. In spite of the contentions of Michael Bloomberg’s “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” and other gun control groups which claim that 90% of Mexican “crime guns” originate in the United States, there IS no massive flow of firearms into Mexico from the US.

So, “…to justify the existence of the ATF’s Project Gunrunner…and thus the agency itself…the ATF stands accused of letting buyers purchase rifles in the US, knowing that the guns were headed for Mexican drug cartels. Worse, they may have literally walked the guns into Mexico themselves…”

We can't let this story disappear. The old media won't ask questions so we have to ask: What really happened to Border Agent Brian Terry?

This thread has just added to the FreeRepublic "bang list" (firearms interest list) by adding the keyword "banglist".

Any time a firearms-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "banglist" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it. Just a suggestion.

“Gunwalker” is beyond evil. I pray the Republican House will be able to do an investigation. The ATF not only allowed others to break federal law, it intentionally broke the law themselves. It resulted in a least one murder. God knows how many more. God help this country. Corruption has seeped into every layer of the federal government and in many of the states.

This is stupid! So, because another govt agent was killed its all the rage to talk about how worthless the ATF is. We should have had this discussion after Waco. Then again the media painted (marginalized) the Davidians as nut cases. That made those murders all OK. Its long past time to shut the ATF down completely. However, Congress just cant pluck the courage up or nerve to do such a thing. Frankly, I think most in DC relish these sorts of events. It numbs down the ‘masses’ so the next atrocity won’t seem not so bad. So, whats it going to take to bring the ATF in tow? I suspect there isn’t such an event.

the diff between waco, ruby ridge and this gunwalker scenario, is that the goon literally killed one of their own fed agent brethren...which is prolly the motivation behind the whistleblower agents coming forward...

unfortunately, it often takes this to make some guys speak up against the system and their own careers...where if it was just a citizen, the charade would continue...

even here, it was almost swept entirely under the rug except for 'fringe' blogosphere like sipseystreet and examiner...

BP agent Terry mightve done more for his country in his death than the last 20 congresses combined...

“We should have had this discussion after Waco.”

You are correct. I thought at the time that the Republicans could have owned the government for the next 30 years if they had pursued WACO diligently. But they didn't. They were completely cowed by the MSM and the Progressives by both parties.

Now we will see how much power the MSM has lost and the new media has gained. That is the big difference.

As I pointed out most in DC are OK w/ the ATF and its corruption. This is why no republicans made even a whimper and allowed the tards to grandstand during the ‘hearings’. DC is a swamp and it needs badly to be drained. If the tea party can go the route I think theres cause for hope. If not I think the situation will rapidly become intolerable.

ATF has been a rogue agency that has a slew of murders and crippling shoots on their record since the 1960s. The problem here is their double-dealing has resulted in the death of another federal agent.

ATF must be destroyed and all of its employees sacked — without any intergovernmental transfers or further employment as law enforcement officers at the federal or state or local level. These people are EVIL. Evil must be fought and defeated.
