Among Ernesto Che Guevaras final requests before he was executed by Bolivian forces in 1967 was that a message of hope be sent back to Fidel Castro: the revolution would come to America.
Che immediately became the martyr for the radical left, with his image seized by American protestors of the 1960s. Since then another, cultural, revolution has taken place. Wikipedia catalogs references to him worldwide from restaurant names, to advertising campaigns, to music, to pop culture. His image adorned an Obama Texas campaign office in 2008. Ches image is now displayed by average college students and even toddlers. No one blinks an eye when a student garbed in clothing bearing his iconic upward gaze takes a seat in my classroom. Students get their fashion cues from music, movie, and sports stars, and follow professors who display Che on office doors and websites, and teach courses about him. Students can find online guides to writing papers about the 2003 New York Times bestselling translation of Ches Motorcycle Diaries, which was made into the 2004 box office hit.
Those who document the reality of the Castro regime, however, do not find themselves well received in the academy. For example, Juan J. Lopez once taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago but was denied tenure in spite of a teaching award and a well-received book published by The Johns Hopkins University Press titled Democracy Delayed: The Case of Castros Cuba. Lopez had escaped Cuba with his parents and moved to the United States in 1967.

and a few faggish know-nothing students in 2011.

Were going to do for blacks exactly what blacks did for the revolution. By which I mean: nothing. Che Guevara, regarding the lack of help from Afro-Cubans.
Mexicans are a band of illiterate Indians. Che Guevara, in Mexico.
The Negro is indolent and lazy, and spends his money on frivolities, whereas the European is forward-looking, organized and intelligent. Che Guevara, upon returning from Africa.
There needs to be a MUCH wider dissemination of the TRUTH regarding Che Guevarra.
When I lived in DC in the 90’s, I worked at a bar that employed a gay, Cuban exile male as a waiter.
He might have been gay but he was very pro life, loathed Communism and worshiped Ronald Reagan. He was just a good, decent guy who wanted to live in freedom.
If he saw ANYONE with a Che shirt, that person got a stern lecture on the REAL Che.
It was enjoyable watching young, lefty college kids wearing a Che shirt squirm while getting verbally abused by a limp wrist, lisping homosexual. The college kids were so indoctrinated by PC, they did not know how to respond.
Every hit on that article at Pajamas Media is dissemination.
If the quotes I see are true then Che was a bigot by most any standard.
That picture brings a smile to my face no matter how badly the day is going.
Why of course he was a bigot, as well as worse things like torturer, maimer, and murderer.
But he raged against the “machine” and achieved popularity that way. (Please ignore the clickety-clacking of gears in Che himself.)
Was this waiter a victim of Che’s and Castro’s “reeducation camps” for gays?
They are true ....and he was.
“Crazy with fury I will stain my rifle red while slaughtering any enemy that falls in my hands! My nostrils dilate while savoring the acrid odor of gunpowder and blood. With the deaths of my enemies I prepare my being for the sacred fight and join the triumphant proletariat with a bestial howl!”
“Hatred as an element of struggle; unbending hatred for the enemy, which pushes a human being beyond his natural limitations, making him into an effective, violent, selective, and cold-blooded killing machine. This is what our soldiers must become “ Che Guevara
“To send men to the firing squad, judicial proof is unnecessary...These procedures are an archaic bourgeois detail. This is a revolution! And a revolutionary must become a cold killing machine motivated by pure hate. We must create the pedagogy of the The Wall! (El Paredón)” —Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara
Castro dealt with the 'mericons' who had HIV by putting them in concentration camps.
Like the fact that Che fled from Cuba after helping Castro gain power because Che knew he was on Castro’s short list for execution.
He was Castro’s useful idiot and a murdering thug.
Among Che’s final requests before the Bolivians executed him in 1967 was the classic,
“Don’t shoot me! Don’t shoot me! I don’t want to die!!!!”
God is at work in Cuba. The growth of house Churches is exploding. Average Cubans harbor no ill will toward Americans in fact quite the opposite.
The government would crack down on that if it wished to. There must be people in that government willing to face reality once the Castros are out of the way.
