My daughter is expecting twins. She has 28 day until she is 37 weeks. 42 weeks is full term. The DR wants her to go at least 37 weeks to allow for maximum development.
My questions is, what can we expect? Obviously, I/we've done the child raising thing, but not twins.
Any insight would be welcome.
You new to buy a new computer so you can post pictures of both babies.
Mark one of their foreheads with a magic marker so you can tell them
apart. Otherwise, she might feed the same one over and over.
My daughter had twins.Line up a lot of help.We had a waiting list to help because we have a large family.Congrats.
That’s one tough baby. The other kids don’t even wait, they just hand him their bottles at daycare.
I am the proud grandmommy of identical twin boys, 6 yo. I don’t know how they did it!
Picture of them is on my homepage.
I need a new keyboard.
I meant..
You need to buy..
Each will have a distinct personality. Don’t make the mistake of thinking they are a “pair”. Each is an individual.
Expect to have spit up stains on everything you own..
Expect to fall in love...
LOL, ones a boy the other is a girl.
Back yo my other statement about not being to bright. I think we’ll be able to figure them out.
Thanks for the hint if we can’t!
I figured 6 months of no sleep.
I spent 26 years in the Army, and I’ve slept on Howitzers during Fire Missions. I don’t think I’ll loose to much sleep. I may get punched a lot from my wife.
I’ve got 5 dogs (ones a Boxer) and a 2 year old granddaughter, I’ve already got spit up stains on everything I own.
Expect to fall in love? Too late!
Celebrate it with two of everything. They will turn to their own personalities when ready. Take them through adolescence then watch them branch out on their own. God Speed.
I read this exactly the way you meant it, completely missed the typo.
Drollest (amusingly odd or whimsically comical) post of the thread. : - )
Congratulations at this exciting time. My nephew and his young bride had fraternal twin daughters who were born too early. They kept the hospital schedule once everyone was home, and it served them well. Hubby pitched in totally when he was at home. It really helped his wife and he didn’t miss out on those perfect moments with his girls. A good side of sleep loss is that you don’t want to miss a thing!
2 girls, 2 boys or 1 of each.
They both have totally different personalities & if we talk around them & someone says "the twins" they now resent it. They want to be called by name, they want to be seperate individuals.
One of ours is a delicate princess with long blond hair & the other likes her hair short & likes to play baseball & anything with dragons. Agree, line up some help for the first few months, mom will need a rest & there will be double laundry, blankets, sleepers, bottles etc..
1 of each.
She wants to name the boy....thing 1 Samuel Thomas
the girl, thing2 Isabel Linnae.
Both middle names mean twin.
She didn’t like the names I suggested. I tried to go biblical. I guess I went off the edge when I went ghetto.
I have twin nephews, when they were babies, I babysat them for 1 week. What a week that was, first thing I learned not to do really quickly, was to not try to feed them both at the same time. I got momentarily distracted by my then 3 year old, only to end up with 2 huge messes, courtesy of the twins. My sister initially followed the advice from a book on twins, to stick to a rigid feeding schedule, forget that, if they are crying and it’s almost time for their bottle, by all means, feed them. The boys got into a lot of trouble when they were small, what one didn’t think about, the other did. Why do parents insist on dressing their kids the same way? I hated when my mom did that with my sister and me who are 2 years apart.
I have twin brothers, 7 years older then me, and I am now 66.
It was not always fun being the junior to teen brothers, but we made it. The three of us are still alive and healthy.
They are in California, and I am far offshore from the USSA.
Congratulations and enjoy the ride.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I have a 28 year old daughter back in Memphis, but I am also the proud father of a new 3 week old baby boy :)
