Gingrich’s Affair Explanation Mocked
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 12 March 2011 | John Semmens

Posted on 03/13/2011 3:34:42 PM PDT by John Semmens

Potential GOP presidential candidate former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s explanation for his extramarital escapade—“I did it because I love America”—brought loud guffaws from former President Bill Clinton.

“If infidelity is proof of love of country I ought to have gotten the Congressional Medal of Honor,” Clinton boasted. “But when he had the chance Gingrich and his boys tried to impeach me. I see a double standard here.”

Clinton recommended that Gingrich “give up the notion that he’ll ever be elected president. He’s already a semi-celebrity—not in my league, of course, but still getting paid for his opinions on Fox News, on the speaking circuit and in books. It’s a life that earns him a living far greater than his value to humanity. He shouldn’t be reaching beyond his grasp.”

I think that Gingrich is going to find that blaming his marital shennanigans on his patriotism was a worse mistake than poor Dan Quayle misspelling potatoe.

Maybe even worse than getting on TV and loudly endorsing Dede Scozzafava, which he will never live down.

Most people can recognize a phony.

Gingrich, if he’s telling it like he sees it, is flat-out lying to himself.

The press shielded Johnathan Edwards from such tawdry coverage during the election, why won't they JUST LEAVE NEWT ALONE?

His marital infidelity is his own matter, was she a paid staffer, intimidated by police on his payroll? Did he lie about it while giving testimony in a case about workplace sexual harassment?

That said, he’ll never get my vote after the way he sided with Nancy Pelosi to sell us out by siding with her and the Green Globalists on the “global warming” scare.

Newt Gingrich’s explanation for his extramarital escapade—“I did it because I love America”

What a cad! If he had an ounce of patriotism in his body, he'd never have sat next to Pelosi, been a certified globalist, nor have endorsed NAFTA. Case closed. Presidential candidate - in the "I don't think so" category.

Fair enough. Regardless, he has no political capital with me for this or any other election.

Wondering when the media will kick Jesse Jackson to the curb for having an affair and paying off the baby mama illegally with funds from his charity.

I think the media already has. The one good part about Obama is his residency in DC has pretty much put the old race pimps out of business, Jesse, Al and Louis have a pretty hard time finding cameras these days. They had to go all the way to Wisconsin to play in that, and prior to then it’d been at least a year.

It’s a life that earns him a living far greater than his value to humanity.

As insults go John, that is downright Churchillian.

It matters to me. He and the Congress at that time sold us out. They didn’t follow through.

The explanation Newt gave was rather ridiculous and insulting to our intelligence.

Of course, the Clinton impeachment wasn’t about his infidelity. The real issues were Chinagate, Travelgate, his abuse of power with interns, lying under oath, Filegate, the Buddhist temple flap, and other such matters.
