Couple years before my time, but I sure remember eating there and similar places back in the sixties.
I also recall when prices were in this vicinity, too... back when a dollar was a dollar:
One time when I was about twelve, just walking through the isles of Woolworth's with my buddy for what I don't remember...
I found a $20 bill on the floor.
There was nobody around, so I kept it... a lot of money to a kid who mowed lawns for like $3 apiece.
BUT, I insisted my friend take half, 'cuz he was there providing luck... then we spent it on 100+ packs of Topps baseball cards lol...

I grew up in California close enough to go to McDonald’s at lunch. Hamberger 12 cents fries 10 cents and a coke for a dime or malt for 15. 1950’s.

I grew up in the nest of the original Bob's Big Boy...and remember some of this (Guessing late 50's or early 60's):

I got $3.50 per lawn on Long Island in 1963. At that time a Saturday matinee double feature up the block was $0.35 and candy was a nickel. So, for half a buck we got two movies, a box of candy for each one and a third box to throw around the theater in candy fights. Black Crows were my favorite ammo.

Definitely a blast from the past. In the early 60’s my girlfriends and I would get on the bus and go downtown (Jacksonvile, Fl) to shop at the dept store then over to Woolworth’s for lunch. I always got the grilled cheese, fries and a cherry coke. We were lucky to grow up in such a wonderful time. I feel sorry for kids nowadays they have no clue how great childhood used to be.

The going rate in the Philly burbs in the early 1970's was 5 bucks a lawn. If philly burbs = main line, OK and now we are into the 70s when the original menu was from 1955.
Twenty years can make a difference.
In 1939 my dad, a united steel worker was receiving .39/hour in 1959 at the same plant, his rate was $ 3.29/hour, 20 years can make a difference.

Brings back fond memories. Back in 1957 my cousin and I used to get wonderful tall root beer floats for $.15 at our local drugstore soda fountain. Malts were a lofty $.25, but you got not only a tall glassful, but the rest in the metal mixing container!

I started working in earnest when I was 14. My treat to myself was to take the bus to downtown Houston, eat at the Woolworths’ Lunch Counter and go to a movie at Lowe’s.

Good old Woolworths. On my vacations home from college, I worked at our local Woolworths taking the store inventory. There’s few things more boring in this world than counting buttons at Woolworths at 11:00 at night. While your friends are out partying.
