SHOCKER of the Decade: John Lennon was a Closet Republican and Reagan Fan (!)

"He was a very different person back in 1979 and 80 than he'd been when he wrote ImagineBy 1979 he looked back on that guy and was embarrassed by that guy's naivete."

First Alice Cooper... now this!

John Lennon
was a closet Republican, who felt a little embarrassed by his former radicalism, at the time of his death - according to the tragic Beatles star's last personal assistant.

Fred Seaman worked alongside the music legend from 1979 to Lennon's death at the end of 1980 and he reveals the star was a Ronald Reagan fan who enjoyed arguing with left-wing radicals who reminded him of his former self.

In new documentary Beatles Stories, Seaman tells filmmaker Seth Swirsky Lennon wasn't the peace-loving militant fans thought he was while he was his assistant.

He says, "John, basically, made it very clear that if he were an American he would vote for Reagan because he was really sour on (Democrat) Jimmy Carter.

"He'd met Reagan back, I think, in the 70s at some sporting event... Reagan was the guy who had ordered the National Guard, I believe, to go after the young (peace) demonstrators in Berkeley, so I think that John maybe forgot about that... He did express support for Reagan, which shocked me...

Ronald Reagan here reacts to news of Lennon's 1980 death... listen to the Leftist MSM try to make the most of the opportunity:

We all grow-up sometime... well, almost all of us.

Given how insidious Imagine was that would be quite a transformation...

The one that really floored me was seeing Johny Rotten on Red Eye and he’s a Conservative.

I’ve heard this before...and it would almost be a natural evolution for Lennon to become at least a libertarian-type conservative.

I bet he never told Yoko though.

Well, to be fair, Jimmy Carter’s presidency would’ve driven Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Ho Chi Minh and Marx to lean toward voting for Reagan.

Of course we all know the real tragedy of this event is that Yoko wasn’t hit even once...

Watched a Lennon documentary was really surprised to learn Yoko was a very serious intelligent woman, John became a huge drunk/ drug addict she threw him out and he was a mess in LA.

He reformed, she took him back he was a really decent family guy at the time he was murdered.

I recall reading that William F Buckley helped John Lennon get into the US (maybe even become a citizen). I don’t know if that is true, but I thought it was interesting.

Might have been a clue here:

“You say you’ll change the constitution
Well, you know
We all want to change your head
You tell me it’s the institution
Well, you know
You’d better free your mind instead
But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao
You ain’t gonna make it with anyone anyhow “

Like any poor kid who became successful from hard work, Lennon discovered taxes. That was what brought him to the US, and that is what makes anyone who works hard for their money a conservative.

As for Lennon's other half, I subscribe to the o'l, "Crazy in the head = Crazy in the bed" justification.

John Lydon, is that right?

I dunno if you know, but Johnny Ramone (guitar) was a HUGE Republican, he even praised Bush at his Rock Hall of Fame induction, I’ll bet that went over great.

One of the primary sources of friction in the band as I understand it was Johnny (Army brat) and his right wing stance vs Joey Ramone (singer), a typical Long Island liberal.

Johnny once said when queried: “Punk rock leans to the Right!”- and they did hate hippies, you know

I’m betting the five years Lennon spent home, out of the limelight, raising Sean while sobering up was probably a period of serious personal reflection time for the former Beatle.

He may of looked back on the 60’s, much like Grace Slick admitted, and thought:

‘What the hell were we thinking, Rock-n-Roll is going to change the world??? ‘

Dennis Hopper readily admitted he voted for Reagan.

If Lennon was a Republican, he was the worst RINO that ever existed.

I suspect there are many closet conservatives in entertainment who would never admit it publically because it would destroy their careers.
