Obama Weighing Pardon for Illegals
A Semi-News/Semi-Satire from AzConservative ^ | 20 August 2011 | John Semmens

Posted on 08/22/2011 10:47:34 AM PDT by John Semmens

Frustrated with Congress’ inability or unwillingness to act on immigration reform, President Obama is said to be weighing granting all persons in the country illegally a blanket pardon.

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) praised the idea. “The Constitution gives the president the power to pardon anyone he wants,” Durbin contended. “He doesn’t need to get Congress’ permission before he acts to grant amnesty to those illegally in the country.”

Representative Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill) concurred with Durbin’s interpretation, calling it “a victory not just for immigrants, but for the American people as a whole. Making these immigrants legal residents will help boost the vote totals for the Democratic Party and offset the advantage gained by the president’s enemies in the Tea Party from the economic misfortunes that have burdened the Democratic Party’s election prospects.”

He can’t pardon them unless he arrests and charges them first can he? lol.

Also, he can’t grant them citizenship, he can only pardon them from the charge of being here illegally. right?

This is obviously satire, but it's getting hard distinguish between satire and actual events with the current Administration. You simply can't be too over the top with these guys.

That said, I don't think a pardon can confer citizenship - it can only erase a criminal conviction.

I don't know if it is practical to pardon people who have not yet been arrested, much less convicted of a crime. If you have not been convicted of a crime it's hard to see how you can petition for pardon.

Nothing more than buying votes, an old democrat tradition. If we can manage to take the WH in the face of their overt election/vote theft the first EO by a GOP president should be to outlaw and prohibit the democrat party from ever organizing in this country again. Use their ploy against them. This was what the Germans did after WWII and is what should have been done in 1865.

Obama can/would be impeached by the House if he attempted a whilesale amnesty, to the extent of his pardon powers as High Crimes & Misdemeanors are for Congress to define, ultimately. I hope he does something blatantly foolish. He and the left will unleash fury like they have never seen.

You’re behind the curve. This is no longer satire, Mr. Semmens. It is administration policy.

Actually, Obama is pretty much putting de facto amnesty in place by refusing to enforce existing immigration laws and to extend government money and entitlements to illegal immigrants.

NO JOKE---THIS REALLY HAPPENED Anti-Americanism Disguised as Ethnic Studies in Tucson Schools
Townhall.com ^ | August 27, 2011 | Rachel Alexander
FR Posted on Monday, August 22, 2011 by Kaslin

The Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) is in a contentious fight with the state of Arizona over its controversial Mexican-American Studies program. A state law went into effect in Arizona on January 1, 2011, banning the teaching of ethnic studies in K-12 schools. It was prompted by an investigation into TUSD’s ethnic studies curriculum by Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne when he was State Superintendent of Schools.

The program is known as “raza studies,” which means race studies, championed by organizations like the far left organization National Council of La Raza. The course does not simply teach Latino youth about their heritage, it goes well beyond that. The textbooks teach Latino youth that they are mistreated by America, training them to become radical anti-American activists.

Textbooks include “The Pedagogy of the Oppressed” and “Occupied America.” Another text "gloats over the difficulties our country is having at enforcing its immigration laws." Benjamin Franklin is vilified as a racist. White people are referred to as “gringos” and “oppressors” of Latino people. “Privilege” is described as related to a person’s ethnicity.

At a TUSD school board meeting on May 10, one upset mother read excerpts from the textbook An Epic Poem: " My land is lost and stolen, My culture has been raped......we have to destroy capitalism…overthrow a government that has committed abuses….to the bloodsuckers, the parasites, the vampires who are the capitalists of the world: The schools are tools of the power structure that blind and sentence our youth to a life of confusion, and hypocrisy, one that preaches assimilation and practices institutional racism."--SNIP--

Unconstitutional violation of separation of powers.
Essentially, unilateral re-write of U.S. law.

Impeachable offense!!!

Go for it Barack!

He wrongly believes this would provide an automatic 3 or 4 millions additional dem voters.

No authority to unilateraly rewrite U.S. law.

Impeachable offense!

First they tell us that it is not a crime to be here illegally. Now they tell us that people will be pardoned for the crime of being here illegally.

There is NO WAY to pardon someone who HAS NOT YET BEEN CONVICTED of their crime, and this is total BULLSHIT OF THE FIRST MAGNITUDE.

The Messiah has mistakenly seen himself as God, who can forgive....

Legally, this is not even CLOSE to being legitimate; it's a method to get Illegals to vote without fear of getting arrested and deported back to the Motherland, now that we ignore the law and their crime.

It looks to me like Zero has given up all hope for reelection. The backdoor amnesty, and now this blanket pardon, is just one last F.U. to the country he so despises.

No; I didn't forget that at all....

That, TOO, was a mistake, and not a legal Pardon....it was political and never caused taxpayers to fund the lifestyle of millions of criminal invaders, merely to allow them to be Democrat voters in 2012.
