Due to comments he made on this thread, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2766898/posts Robroys posting priviledges have been revoked. Since he began his membership in 1998 he has made a lot of friends here, many of whom were expecting freepmail once we got to our place in Kentucky. There are also some here who he worked with in the past in the real world. And his only connection to these people now is freerepublic and freepmail.
Therefore, if you would like to stay in touch with him, his "special" new email address is robroysjunk@gmail.com. Its an account he set up separate from all others to preserve anonymity when necessary.
Rob told me, as he likes to say, "two things": 1. He really enjoyed this site, maybe too much and 2. Getting revoked is very much like being a ghost. You are there, but it takes all your mental strength just to push a penny up a door. It's frustrating, so the best thing to do is quit haunting the place.
He really loves analogies and a flawed one seems to have been his undoing.

Agree 100%. It was like a conservative going on a MSNBC show - you say one thing, and the interviewer shrieks (picture Chris Matthews) and spins it into a completely different thing.
In no way did Robroy defend child porn nor did he claim it wasn't a crime.
I think it would work because it would make them have to think, besides its fun to mess with bozos.

The DUmmies are all over FR reading the posts. Since Sarah Palin came on the scene, so many men on FR have freaked out. While it’s never gotten as bad here as it is over in DUmmyland, it’s still embarrassing to read some of these women-hating posts. And I do recognize that there is also huge support for her among men, too.

I’m very surprised to find out he’s gone, so I read the thread.
First, let me say I’ve posted beck and forth with him MANY times. He is a long time FReeper, and always seemed totally straight up to me.
As far as having that kind of stuff on a computer, I agree with him that doesn’t prove anything. Divorce, bitter feelings, random emails, there are a hundred ways that stuff could be on a person’s machine and them not even know about it.
Some topics are way more emotional than others.
Where I fall out of agreement with him is when he tries to argue a difference between just having the material and actually doing it. I just don’t see the difference, because it’s been proven time and time again that people who acquire or collect that trash ALWAYS go on to worse and worse offenses.
He should, however, be able to argue that without anyone jumping to the conclusion that he himself is a perv.
Personally, I’ve been pretty sad lately about all the name-calling, rancor, just utter childishness. It seems to be on the increase, but who knows, maybe it will ALWAYS seem that way.
Sad to see him go. He has always struck me as a true conservative.

I agree with your assessment. I think he just failed to make that point crystal clear in his initial statement and again in his rebuttal of the charges made against him. The whole set up reminds me of men accused of rape only to find out later that they are totally innocent, only the damage to the guy cannot be undone. It also kinda reminds me of the Salem witch trials too, come to think of it. Sad. Discourse, debate, and civil disagreement is gone. Emotions are the masters of the day.
Sometimes “meanness” is what’s required. And it does “last over the long term”.

Here’s a recipe for RobRoy:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz Scotch
1/4 oz sweet vermouth
Angostura bitters to taste
maraschino cherry for garnish
Preparation:
Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass with ice.
Stir well.
Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Garnish with a cherry.
