'Ultra-Right', 'Extreme' John Birch Society Saw It ALL Coming Down the Pike...

50 years later,  history is proving them right-
as it will soon enough the TEA Party

The John Birch Society was founded in 1958 by Robert Welch, a retired candy manufacturer who saw collectivism as the main threat to Western Civilization, with useful-idiot-type liberals serving as "secret communist traitors" that provided cover for a move towards world socialist government   The organization took its name from an American Baptist missionary (and US intelligence officer) who was shot dead by Red Chinese forces in August 1945, therefore it was that John Birch was honored as 'first fatality of the Cold War'.

The agenda was pro-family, pro-Christian, anti-communist, anti-UN, and anti-big government, while treating the principles of the US Constitution/Bill of Rights as sacrosanct. The JBS charter was based on opposing plans of what they said were a small group of 'Insiders' working surreptitiously both in and outside of government to bring the this country's free-market enterprise system to it's knees while incrementally stripping America's sovereignty and inflicting a socalist society upon our people. But they also felt both the USSR and US governments were under the influence of the same international cabal, one keen to bring about a collectivist 'New World Order'... all orchestrated from behind the scenes and by-hook-or-by-crook.

Naturally such conspiracy theory brought massive derision -particularly from those exposed- and the John Birch Society was mocked as paranoid and delusional- among other things. But just listen to what the man had to say back then in '73 -most of this quoted from their 1958 charter- and you tell me he's not warning us of the the heinous internationalist-socialist Sorobama regime that's currently ripping this country a new one...

Agenda of the NWO 'Insiders', according to JBS (1958):

Just 'cuz you're paranoid
doesn't mean they're not after you:

If you find that level of conspiracy theory to much to swallow, consider this: The second head of the John Birch Society was Congressman Larry McDonald from Georgia, who was killed on September 1, 1983, when the Soviet Union shot down KAL 007... the only congressman killed by the Soviets during the Cold War.

I remember back in the days of “Burma Shave” signs, seeing the “Get us out of the UN” billboards by the JBS. It is a shame that we did not pay attention.

It was the John Birch Society that made my parents move from the Democrat to the Republican party, back in the 60’s.

My dad was a proud member and it certainly helped influence my political leanings and love for history.

Viva la Bircher!

Wolverines!

Bottom line - the good guys are losing the war on America and our Constitution.

The MSM declared war on the JBS and it continues today. There is no comparable criticism of any Marxist organizations and witness how Bill Ayers’ biography has morphed from ‘terrorist’ to presidential advisor.

I used to get their magazine in the 90’s after the Waco debacle. I still agree with them 100%.

I can’t take the full isolationist foreign policy, ill-advised imho

Other than that, I LOVE what they’ve got to say...

I make it a point to discuss history and current events with my child, and I can't help but feeling that much of the time I am giving a point of view that is out of sync with what is being taught at school. The ‘arab spring’ issue was one in which it was almost blasphemous to discuss the potential anti-US anti-Israel radical aspects.

I feel I have to explain things in great detail and actually defend what is in reality a non-radical viewpoint, to avoid sounding to my child like I'm ‘out there’. It's out of control and has to stop.

In order to stop the radical left I believe it is crucial to decentralize our society as much as possible. It is much easier in 2011 to propagandize than it was in 1911. A relatively small group of people can control popular culture and higher education, and filter what we hear, see, and read.

It took the left many decades to put themselves in the position to control these avenues of public perception and popular thinking, and the best way we can stop it is by adding options that they don't control, overwhelming the central control they've worked so hard to put into place.

One example is higher education. Leftist control of universities can be overcome by massive growth of online higher education and institution of aptitude testing to allow direct comparison of knowledge with those who obtain standard university education. The aptitude testing should be by private companies that provide results as a fee service to employers looking for the best employees. Any complaints by the left about this can be defended by pointing out that this is the most egalitarian, affordable, and universally accessible system of higher education that can be put into place.

There are many more fairly straightforward ways in which we can decentralize society and take control back from the left, but it will take time. We don't have time to waste.

Next time you’re at a gun show, go to the book seller tables and see if they have a copy of “None Dare Call It Conspiracy” by Gary Allen. It’s also available on Amazon.

Does it really matter if it is a conspiracy or not if Democrats are doing all of these things anyway?

In reality isn’t any political party a conspiracy to gain and hold power so as to use the power of government to achieve your goals?

The only possible difference is that whether your goals are open or secret. In the case of the Democrats I believe that their goals are out in the open with the exception that they do not admit (most of them) that their goals are communistic.

Although I never joined the JBS, I attended several meetings by invitation to see what they were like. This was many decades ago. The attendees were mostly professional people, doctors, lawyers, business professionals, airline pilots. They were incredibly sharp, intelligent and most of all, just about the most informed people on earth.

They were completely knowledgeable regarding issues of the day...such as the Cold War, the Soviet threat, communists in the government, attacks on capitalism, etc.

Salt of the earth patriots, all of them.

While meetings were not clandestine, they were low-key and private, due to the concentrated attacks on the Society and its adherents by the MSM of the day.

Meetings were held at the Chicago suburban estate of a member of a prominent local family. Security was on site to watch the area where the members who were meeting inside were parked. This was to insure no one drove in to take license plates numbers.

Kinda cloak-and-daggerish, now looking back on the times. But this was also the time that home-grown communists and socialists were infiltrating our government and institutions, getting a toe-hold and control everywhere they could....and we're seeing the results today.
