'Ultra-Right', 'Extreme' John Birch Society Saw It ALL Coming Down the Pike...
Reaganite Republican ^ | October 17, 2011 | Reaganite Republican

50 years later,  history is proving them right-
as it will soon enough the TEA Party

The John Birch Society was founded in 1958 by Robert Welch, a retired candy manufacturer who saw collectivism as the main threat to Western Civilization, with useful-idiot-type liberals serving as "secret communist traitors" that provided cover for a move towards world socialist government   The organization took its name from an American Baptist missionary (and US intelligence officer) who was shot dead by Red Chinese forces in August 1945, therefore it was that John Birch was honored as 'first fatality of the Cold War'.

The agenda was pro-family, pro-Christian, anti-communist, anti-UN, and anti-big government, while treating the principles of the US Constitution/Bill of Rights as sacrosanct. The JBS charter was based on opposing plans of what they said were a small group of 'Insiders' working surreptitiously both in and outside of government to bring the this country's free-market enterprise system to it's knees while incrementally stripping America's sovereignty and inflicting a socalist society upon our people. But they also felt both the USSR and US governments were under the influence of the same international cabal, one keen to bring about a collectivist 'New World Order'... all orchestrated from behind the scenes and by-hook-or-by-crook.

Naturally such conspiracy theory brought massive derision -particularly from those exposed- and the John Birch Society was mocked as paranoid and delusional- among other things. But just listen to what the man had to say back then in '73 -most of this quoted from their 1958 charter- and you tell me he's not warning us of the the heinous internationalist-socialist Sorobama regime that's currently ripping this country a new one...

Agenda of the NWO 'Insiders', according to JBS (1958):

Just 'cuz you're paranoid
doesn't mean they're not after you:

If you find that level of conspiracy theory to much to swallow, consider this: The second head of the John Birch Society was Congressman Larry McDonald from Georgia, who was killed on September 1, 1983, when the Soviet Union shot down KAL 007... the only congressman killed by the Soviets during the Cold War.

“extreme”? Truth and righteousness are extreme. There is no lies in truth and no unrighteousness in righteousness. Can’t get any more extreme than that. Moderation is blending the two. A little bit of wrong with right. Extreme good is good. Moderate wrong is wrong.

"The MSM declared war on the JBS and it continues today."

Sadly, this was aided by W.F. Buckley, who hated the JBS.
Sure, there were some kooks in it, as there are in anything (one need look no further that NR itself - Buckley's idiot son, and David Frum, to name a few).

The lower right fist with peace sign - that was the emblem on the shirt of the “guy with the mike” at the atlanta OWS site, when they denied John Lewis a speaking opportunity. The only difference was that it was on a red background.

Do you know its origin?

TIA

It was the John Birch Society that made my parents move from the Democrat to the Republican party, back in the 60’s.

Have you heard of the new subgroup they've established for the children of the founding group? It's called the "Sons of Birches".

Although I never joined the JBS, I attended several meetings by invitation to see what they were like. This was many decades ago. The attendees were mostly professional people, doctors, lawyers, business professionals, airline pilots. They were incredibly sharp, intelligent and most of all, just about the most informed people on earth.

In the beginning years of the JBS, I was a mere child but my mom was nurse that was around the doctors you describe above that were involved in the JBS. Some of the office talk made it home as "adult conversations" that I listened to raptly. I've seen the prognostications of the JBS come true in many areas but especially in the area of healthcare which was the focus of much of the "adult conversations". I recall some intense discussions among my parents and grandparents on these subjects, especially since my mom's dad was a railroad union man.

The Birchers have lost the war.

I belong to a computer users group that has been meeting since the mid 70’s. We meet once a month and I almost never miss. At Saturdays meeting I was speaking to a couple of guys who had told me they were going to vote for Obama. They did do that and I have asked several times since if they were going to vote for him again or if they had voters remorse. They are going to vote for him again.

When I explain that the president is Marxist and ask is that what they want, they laugh at me and tell me I’m crazy and then say, “yeah he’s a Moslem too, Ha, Ha, and he isn’t a citizen either, Ha, Ha.”

The Democrat party has been overrun by the Marxists. The news media has been overrun by the Marxists.

Marxism is unsustainable. Although I say that there is a Marxist state of China, Cuba and North Korea that keeps going and going and going. Marxist states keep going by forcing everyone to be poor. Marxism or Socialism will always fail, it is just a matter of time before it falls under it’s own weight. The problem is that that can take a lot of time. I do believe that the true Marxist in this country are in the very small minority and that the rest of those that vote Democrat are just stupid dupes that are mislead by the MSM.

I don’t know what to do inform people of the truth, when I try I am often ridiculed.

I have decided to prepare for the worst as best I can and prepare to have my own little island of security until the government comes and takes everything I have and shares it with those that don’t. I suspect they will have to do that over my dead body but I’m not sure I will be able to hold them off very long. Death is probably better than letting them win with me under their subjection.

These are not the best of times.

Patrick Henry, George Washington, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton, et al: it was good enough for these guys - it shoukld be good enough for us.
I'd rather go down swingin' than kneeling with a bullet in the back of my head....

Thanks,
Interesting, as a young man I served in the Submarine Service, the boat I lived on for 4 years was the USS Patrick Henry, the sister ship was the USS George Washington.

The clenched fist sign was popularized in the 1930s as a Communist/leftist counterpoint to Mussolini's stiff armed "Roman salute", which the Nazis adopted in their "Heil Hitler" salute. You can see pictures of Stalin giving the clenched fist sign at public ceremonies starting in the 1930s.

There may have been some earlier manifestations of the "clenched fist" salute, but I am not aware of any.

Marxism and sin have much in common. Each bears within itself the seeds of its own destruction.

Yeah, he was right about some trivial things like the decline of America...big deal huh?

You're joking right?

What the hell we talking about here??

This one is the clenched fist with the 2 fingers up, in what is commonly thought of as a peace sign. It is seemingly modeled after the international socialists clenched fist.

The socialist signs are all over the OWS movement. I was wondering if this particular one had a specific group that was using it. I don’t have a copy of None Dare call it conspiracy, but it would seem that it might be defined there.

Thx

The JBS taught me about Newt. He’s been on their radar and in their sights for a long, long time.

It’s ironic, the John Birch Society, and people like Pat Buchanan were absolutely correct, and those telling everyone they are “kooks”, turn out the be the real frauds and liars.

The "V" sign was popularized by Winston Churchill during World War II, but I doubt the leftists who used the sign starting with the "Ban the Bomb" movement in the 1950s were fond of the British wartime leader.

As with the clenched fist sign, there may have been earlier manifestations of its use, but I am not aware of any.

Thanks for your help.

It could be a black panther symbol - i’m checking it out.

It was on a relatively newly printed t-shirt worn by an OWS leader. I am looking to see which current socialist organization might be using it.

It could be a clue about the groups leading the OWS protests. (or not)
