Herman Cain: Yes, My Wife is a Democrat
TPM ^ | 11/08/2011 | Evan McMorris-Santoro

Here’s what we learned from Herman Cain’s appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” last night: sexual harassment allegations can be funny and the elusive Mrs. Cain is, in fact, a Democrat.

“My wife is a Democrat, but that doesn’t mean that’s how she votes all the time,” Cain told Kimmel.

Not much is known about Gloria Cain, the Republican presidential frontrunner’s wife of 43 years. We were supposed to meet her recently, but the Cain campaign abruptly canceled a planned appearance on Fox News. Last week, the Atlanta Journal Constitution profiled Gloria Cain and discovered that not only is she a Democrat, but that she “has voted in Democratic primaries and runoffs numerous times since 2000 — including the 2008 presidential primary that Barack Obama won with 66 percent of the vote, according to local voting records.”

Right, she votes for Cain when he’s running otherwise she votes for Democrats.

So? Want to play hun? Apparently so is Newt at heart.

The Newt who this spring said he thought the Obamacare individual mandate was a good idea?

Really want to play this game?

Newt has a whole lot more to lose here

Terayza Heinz Kerry was a Republican until her gigolo husband ran for President. Not a biggy.

Judging by some of her public comments since her husband left office, Laura Bush might be as well.

Big deal.

Source to back you your accusation?

Cain in 1993 was on of the leaders fighting Hillary Care.

Your boy, Rick Perry was one of the very few Republicans actively campaigning FOR Hillary Care in 1993

Wow, and some of us were called liars for saying this. I guess this would make The Great Cain a liar, too, since he’s repeated this “lie”?

Uh, oh. If this is true, this is not good news, and my rino detection antennae are on full alert here. I have been supporting Cain so far, but we all know wives can have incredible impact on politicians, especially if there have been any past transgressions over which they have been hurt. Hell hath no fury...

The question is, does she support his run for the Presidency 100%?

On one level, this is a non story.

On another level - it’s a disconnect.

I could not be married to a Democrat. Just couldn’t. It’s more than politics - it’s an entirely different world and national view of everything.

Oh boy. Gloria Cain just lost my vote!!! I will NOT vote for Gloria Cain for the Republican Nomination for President. Forget it. She is out! However, Herman Cain gets my vote with enthusiasm. I could care less if he voted for Clinton over the ancient Dole. Anyway, it will be nice to have a wife who will be so against the platform that she will stay out of her husband’s way and let him do his job. I am sick and tired of the “two for one” anyway. It is stupid.

Yeah I smell opportunist. IF he can’t even persuade his wife not to be a dim, how is he going to work with the liberal slugs in congress?

I guess I would be more worried about the other candidates situational political morality then I would Cain's wife.

James Cargill’s wife is Mary Matalin, a huge republican. I bet their family diners are fun.
