Rossi opens 10 KW expression of interest list and sets 10 kW price
Journal of Nuclear Physics ^ | Nov 22 2011 | Andrea Rossi

Posted on 11/22/2011 7:39:39 PM PST by Kevmo

Andrea Rossi November 21st, 2011 at 11:25 PM Dear Felipe From Chile: You are right, we are organizing this. BY THE WAY: WE COLLECT FROM NOW THE NAMES OF ALL THE PERSONS OR ENITITES INTERESTED TO BUY AN E-CAT OF 10 KW. IF WE WILL REACH 10,000 NAMES IN THE LIST, THE PERSONS IN THE WAITING LIST WILL HAVE THE RIGHT TO CONFIRM OR NOT THEIR ORDER AT 400 EURO/THERMAL KW. DO NOT SEND MONEY, WE WILL ACCEPT THE ORDERS ONLY IF WE WILL REACH 10,000 NAMES IN THE WAITING LIST, COMBINING OUR LIST WITH THE WAITING LIST ORGANIZED BY OUR BROTHERS OF HYDROFUSION . WARM REGARDS, ANDREA ROSSI, LEONARDO CORP. (PRESIDENT)

Felipe from Chile November 21st, 2011 at 9:26 PM Mr Rossi, Having followed you for many months I decided to ask you a minor question, my apologies if it has been answered before. Since I am not a business man, I think one of the way to support your endevour is to become a qualified e-cat technician. In this context, Does your company have (or will have in the near future) training program for setup and maintenance of e-cat technology?. I think you will require qualified staff around the world pretty soon.

Sincerely,

Felipe Ochoa

well moon that drawing of a masked proton is actually well accepted physics and has been discussed in Journals for five years or more.

I'd like a reference to a journal paper that discusses "masked protons," please. Hopefully you can provide one that employs this drawing of "mini-atoms" of hydrogen that you claim is well-accepted.

You seem to have gross misconceptions regarding the state of physics.

"it is conceivable that, for a very short time period (e.g. 10ˆ-18 sec), a series of neutral mini atoms of hydrogen could be formed, in an unstable state..."

Oh no, this sounds like Black Light Power's hydrino theory:

Their website. The guy running it is named Dr. Randell L. Mills.
He really is an MD and also has a BA in Chemistry and he's been pushing this for well over a decade. He even has a grand unified theory. He's got millions invested, even power companies that supposedly are buying systems from him but he can't seem to get it to work.

Hydrino theory

Yeah, I love the Blacklight Power charade. They're a good example of how you can rake in dollars without ever producing a single watt of power for sale.

Just in my opinion, they do a good job of coming across as genuinely deluded people, not overt scammers. Rossi... not so much.

Hmm... Are they "secret" companies, by any chance?

I have several patents (five) and also license trade secrets and could care less if his patents teach you how to make it.
Maybe you don't care, but the Patent Office does. You can't patent what you don't disclose in your application.

Rossi's application will almost certainly be rejected, since it contains nothing new. So, Rossi won't have any Patent protection because he won't have a Patent. Even if this Patent is accepted, it won't protect his "cold fusion" secrets, since they aren't disclosed in the Patent.

So, again, why did Rossi decide to start selling his gadget without any legal protection, immediately after spending a year refusing to let any independent experts to examine it? What has changed since the end of October to allow him to stop worrying about someone "stealing" his intellectual property?

I suspect (but haven't done the calcs myself) that the 30% figure is a theoretical thermal efficiency based on the E-Cats stated upper temperature limit (~400C).

I'm not following you. Would you explain again, in plain English, how you think he is going to convert his heat to electricity with 30% efficiency? Please state plainly and without adding any goofy comments about environmentalists in an attempt to distract.

I don't know that 30% is possible within the current stated capabilities of the E-Cat (hence my point about the current stated maximum usage temperature). But there are plenty of different working fluids (from SO2 to ammonia to freons) that are quite capable of converting even low grade heat (<100 C) into electricity by a liquid-to-vapor expansion cycle driving either a piston or turbine engine/genset.

Conversion efficiencies will be lousy, but we already live with that with our cars and trucks.

I posted a link to a home/small business sized genset series (10KW to 100KW) based on such a cycle on one of these threads (and no, I'm not going to chase down the link again).

Look up OTEC (Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion) for an example of one proposed LARGE scale usage of such.

I didn’t ask you for a list of lower efficiency and well-known methods of electricity generation—I asked you to explain how Rossi was going to convert 30% of his heat to electricity.

I will take your non-answer as an admission on your part that it’s not possible with current tech.

And I answered you. Are you simply incapable of understanding even simple technical issues??

Just wanted to hear one of the Rossi cheerleaders acknowledge real-world science for once. Glad you agree that this will not work as advertised.

I agree. There's a lot of people who thing BLP has something, they just don't think it's hydrinos. They are working with Rowan University to prove their theory.

Just another "Cold Fusion" scam looking for marks.
