Earlier this week, a Virginia-based organization came under fire for leading 3rd grade students at Woodbrook Elementary in Charlottesville to write a song titled We Are Part of the 99.
The song, with its reference to the 1 percent and 99 percent was obviously talking about the Occupy protests that occurred around the country.
According to the school districts story, the students wrote:
I used to be part of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldnt make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
When I was in 3rd grade, I knew about bubbles in the bath, not housing bubbles.
Now another video has emerged which was produced by Kid Pan Alley, the same organization that helped the students write the Occupy song.
Posted a couple weeks prior to Barack Obamas inauguration, the organization posted a video of a song written by 2nd graders in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Titled Inauguration, here are the lyrics:
It feels like its been winter for a hundred years
The world is as cold as the white snow
The birds have been wondering if its safe to return
Weve all been hibernating way too long
But now weve got the power were no longer cowards
Well have a brand new song
Now were ready to shed our old skin
Were ready for a brand new day
Ready for peace ready for spring
Ready for freedom let freedom ring
Welcome Barack Obama
Hell save the day hip hip hooray
If President Obama came to our school
Id show him all the work Ive done
To make peace for all the children in the world
Growing happiness for everyone
But now weve got the power were no longer cowards
Its time to have some fun
Now were ready to shed our old skin
Were ready for a brand new day
Ready for peace ready for spring
Ready for freedom let freedom ring
Welcome Barack Obama
Hell save the day hip hip hooray
Welcome Barack Obama
Hell save the day hip hip hooray
Barack Obama hip hip hooray
Barack Obama hip hip hooray
Barack Obama hip hip hooray
Barack Obama!
Im all about respecting the office of the president and educating our children about how our government works, but hell save the day and ready for peace? Given Obamas penchant for war, is Kid Pan Alley now helping students write songs about drone strikes or the toppling of Middle East governments?
For an organization that supposedly doesnt allow political or partisan songs to be created, its sure doing a lousy job of policing its staff.
Parents and taxpayers should be aware of this before welcoming this activist organization into taxpayer funded schools.
As we both know, the Marxist own “PUBIC” education.
Never, ever, subject a child to a government run school.
The curious thing here....is that they claim that a 8-year old kid wrote it. After reading the text here....I’d say that is a 100 percent bogus statement.
“Occupy”? LOL, I remember that. They long ago turned into your garden variety homeless encampments, right?
The UC Davis occupy is all gone. Was down to 5 or 6 tents, with one being the main office, all of them looking unoccupied at night, then it went down to 3 tents, all appearing unoccupied to me. Now, all gone. Just some stuff stacked up at the base of a tree -- 7 PM last night. I'd ride a bicycle on the sidewalk running between the tents they had set up, every 2 or 3 days, just out of curiosity. I never saw anyone there for the last couple of weeks at least, and never any indication there was anyone in the tents, but one or two may have been occupied later in the evening.
They left them alone, and it all sort of withered, I think. There was an occupy in a downtown City park that the cops let hang around for six weeks or more, but they rolled the last of 'em up, real gentle-like, a couple of weeks ago, or so. Once it got down to mainly homeless guys, they didn't have much problem. The cops know 'em all, and some of the cops like to throw their weight around with them, but they didn't, giving them warning, then letting that string out for a while. Good tactic. But not every Davis PD officer is a prick, some of them are pretty good guys. There are few though, that are young and all pig, looking for trouble they can escalate for their own safety. Idiots, some of them. Fairly typical small-town America these days.
If one really wants trouble, just 45 minutes down the road it begins to get a little tougher. Another half hour later one will be coming up on Richmond. Don't arrive there with an empty gas tank, looking wealthy but weak. It could happen in broad daylight. Night time is worse, of course.
That can be taken in more ways that one, my friend.
