sorry, he can’t win due to his social issues that the far right sees as repulsive. they’ll end up just staying home

only way he can recover would be to compensate with more independents... which may like him on the social issues... but the old, powder haired, white guy hasn’t played well in about 200 years

looks like another GOP loss being queued up

I certainly hope Allen is chosen as VP, but it not I would hope he would be asked to serve as Sec of Defense.

He must have a strong person as VP such as West or Scott Walker. No more of this who cares about the VP. The VP is a heartbeat away from the POTUS and we don’t need any person that will flip to the left or doing it as a favor. This is an important race. If Newt expects the people to vote for him; then he will have to do the right thing by and for the people.

John Kasich would be the perfect pick. Conservative to the bone and really knows economic issues.

Marco Rubio would also be great. If Rubio endoses Newt I predict Newt will win Florida.

Newt does not want to kick Grandpa and Grandma Garcia out of the country. Romney, trying to act “tough”, wants to kick them out and put the rest in jail. That does not go over to well in a state like Florida.

Let’s not forget that before Willard the liberal went negative in Florida about a month again, using his Superpac, Newt was leading him by 20 or more points in the Sunshine state.

I can’t see Gingrich and West together. Reagan didn’t like Bush. Bush is responsible for the mess we are in. He was a neocon and I don’t believe Reagan was.

But it isn’t the ideology, per se that would be the problem.

Imagine West butting heads with Gingrich.

Gingrich would be a divisive President. that’s okay. We need someone strong to take over right now.

But I can’t see him getting along with West.

Let's face political hard facts....not just deal with emotions.

Newt won't pick a Veep from another southern state that adjoins his own. He won't pick Rubio either. He's just throwing Floridian West's name out right now because his next hurdle is the Florida primary and it makes political good sense to do so.

We Florida freepers love Rep. West, but he's still too lightweight to put on a ticket, let alone the consideration of the geographical obstacle.

I have a feeling Newt would pick someone we haven't thought of too much, someone conservative with good business or legislative skills, someone from a more industrial state....someone who will electrify us.

Newt is a savvy politician....he would pick someone that balances the ticket geographically, someone who would add the weight of experience to it, someone from a state with a substantial electoral vote....and someone who would sit well with conservatives.

I have a strong hunch we would lick our chops at Newt's selection for a running mate.

Allen West makes Newt look like a left wing loon! But, I’ll support whoever is the candidate. Again, beware of Newt’s past credentials, although at times I really like, and will support him. If West is the VP choice, maybe he can pull Newt away from his progressive leanings...
