Report: Fast and Furious "Fix is in" and Boehner is behind it

As I readied myself for what promised to be a bombshell of a hearing on February 2nd, I thought Attorney General Eric Holder would have his toughest test yet. He would now be in front of the committee that Darrell Issa chairs - the House Oversight Committee. In every Fast and Furious hearing Issa had been involved in, he stood out as the top bulldog, the fieriest and most knowledgable about the case. On February 2nd, he had the gavel and much more evidence with which to go directly at Holder.

As I watched the hearing, I was struck by how tame Issa was compared to previous hearings. There were congressmen on the committee who went at Holder hard - Gowdy, Meehan, Buerkle, and Labrador to name a few - but Issa was conspicuously soft. I thought, "Why?" This was the guy who had all of the goods, collectively. He could have personally delivered a mortal blow to Holder's tenure; he might have even exposed a White House connection. Instead, he seemed to put his gloves down.

Mike Vanderboegh, the guy who broke the Fast and Furious story originally...

Actually, I was expecting this.

Establishment Republicans will see that no Rat loses his cushy Federal revolving door job, is convicted, or goes to prison, while the whistle blowers and their families slowly die of freak accidents or suicides during tax audits.

Meanwhile in other news, special prosecutors will continue to be appointed for conservatives or lower level Republican loyalists for investigation of whistle blowing or patriotic activities, a la Scooter Libby or Ramos and Compean.

Republican Presidents (except Reagan) have done this as standard operating procedure since WWII.

Yeah, right. You'll be pleased to know that the dope is still flowing and the dealers are still protected.

I’m really starting to believe that no one will take punitive action against the Obama administration out of fear of what the Obamabots will do.

“No one” will take punitive action because they don’t want to and they don’t think its necessary. Real people deal with real problems under the rule of law. Politicians avoid real problems like the plague, pay a little lip service and hope to hell it goes away or someone else deals with it.

if... and i mean if... those two “officers” had followed procedures, they would have had a large dope bust... instead they violated their very oaths, by passed the legal system and played cowboy.... well, they got caught... as for the dope flowing across the border, I am fully aware of this.... so are the feds, yet it continues to cross..why??? and if you say that agents need to violate the laws of this country to stop it, well, the dea needs people like you
