The Intel Hub alerts us to a shocking new defense contract entered by the Department of Homeland Security to secure a massive amount of ammunition, with the option for infinite supply, infinite delivery.
ATK Awarded Contract to Supply 450 Million Rounds of .40 Caliber Ammunition to the Department of Homeland Security
ATK has secured a major Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity deal to supply up to 450 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition to the Department of Homeland Security.
The 1 year contract with four option years comes at a time when many Americans believe that DHS, along with certain aspects of the military, will soon turn their sights on the American people during some sort of martial law scenario.
“We are proud to extend our track record as the prime supplier of .40 caliber duty ammunition for DHS, ICE,” said Ron Johnson, the president of ATK’s Security and Sporting group,” reported a PR Newswire release.
The Department of Homeland Security has been extremely busy in the last few months.

To drive up ammo prices. Obama’s Regime may play at being economic illiterates, but they know the score when it comes to making We the People nervous.
That being said, can you put me on your ping list ?
Could this be an effort to clog up the supply chain and deny supply to anyone else?
And the guard posts at the camps. Camps that I heard Glen Beck say did not exist.
I can see why BP need to requal and train in a serious way. I get concerned when I read that every agency including the EPA and wildlife folks have giant SWAT Teams now. I get very worried when I read about the power-mad TSA Tsar Pistole pushing his “VIPR” program to put DHS Stasis in our bus and train stations and on street corners.
And I suppose they will all need thousands of rounds of .40 caliber for training and requal, and finally, for “operations.”
Certainly you can undestand our concern, going into the crucial 2012 elections, when we read about a new contract for 450 MILLION rounds of .40 caliber for the DHS?
What “war” is the DHS gearing up for?

Sounds like nobody told DHS that when dealing with the bitter clingers in a 1776 solution distance is your friend. I’d be more upset if they had ordered 450 million rounds of 5.56.

If DHS were expecting to take delivery of all 450m rounds, that would still require several years to do that. I would be very impressed if any manufacturer could turn out 1m a day.
Why indeed. They don’t want those on the border using ammunition.

As if Romney is much better. The czars and other government minions are already in place so it will continue as planned no matter which snake oil salesman is in office.
Winchester also got a contract from DHS for 200 million rounds of .40 caliber ammunition.
A rifle can’t go everywhere, but a .40 hand gun just about can. It is a serious piece of armament.

I read this really neat novel a while back, and I’m re-reading it now...It illustrates the potential of the “just one more tragedy” senario...And how quickly it can turn against freedom...
I think most of us would make our stand and be proud to do so at that time...
The question is, will you stand up and be counted before they get a chance to act on impulse...
