NBC News anchor Brian Williams appeared on CBS The Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday night. Letterman discussed Williamss special on Rock Center about the killing of Osama bin Laden and became agitated when describing President Barack Obamas successes as compared to what he sees as President George W. Bushs failures in the War on Terror. What more do we want this man to do for us, honest to god, asked Letterman.
He was first asked about CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley, who Williams described as being suspiciously sunny in his disposition. Lifes too short, if you feel like something a dog left on the sidewalk, say it, said Williams.
Williams had great praise for the CBS and ABC News teams. Letterman, in turn, complimented Williams on his Rock Center special on the assassination of the Osama bin Laden.
Letterman drew applause from the audience when he said that he felt Obama had demonstrated great courage and great intelligence when he gunned down bin Laden and asked what more do you want to lead your country?
Williams said that most uniformed military personnel would tell him under the Bush administration that bin Laden himself was not a priority. What you now find out, interviewing everyone in that picture, that of course it was a priority but it was a renewed priority when President Obama came into office, said Williams. He inherited a different set of circumstances combat was winding down, arguably, at least the first if not the second.
Letterman said that circumstances in Obamas first term were worse than those for Bush, so why didnt he go after him?
Williams outlines just how low the chances were that Obama could have been able to corner bin Laden where he was in Pakistan.
Letterman questioned why Obama should not be able to use the killing of bin Laden as a campaign tool when he believed Bushs team would have done the same thing in that position. Remember the Iraq war, mission accomplished, well holy ****, the mission was not accomplished, said Letterman. They put a banner up on the SS Lincoln, George flies up on the thing. He was very cute.
What more do we want this man to do for us, honest to god, asked Letterman to applause.
And there you have it, responded Williams.
The segment concluded with a discussion on gay marriage and Letterman attempting to get to the bottom of his confusion as to why some would oppose same-sex marriage rights.

Did they discuss the economy at all?
Letterman is an ass.
Hahahahahahaha! [gasp] Hahahahahaha!
I don’t think those two pixies are smart enough to know anything about the economy. One reads the “news” from a teleprompter and one reads somebody else’s jokes from a teleprompter. I’m not sure which is which.
Turn in his resignation.
Letterman and Golam are identical twins!
Letterman, get off your casting bed and pay attention. Tell Zer0 to get off the flush handle!
Never mind that. Did they talk about why Rock 30 is on hiatus until sweeps are over?
Letterman is a sicko alright - and a pervert too.
Should have been “What more do we want Obama to do TO us”. It seems the American people enjoy getting screwed.
I can't help reading between the lines on this; Letterman's remarks were completely over the top. Do you think he was serious?
yes, Letterman is an ass; but he’s a bigger fool.
What do we need to do to get this idiot off the boob tube?
He is a cheater, adulter, user of women, misogynist, over paid, un-funny and is still on the TV.
How low do his ratings have to go for the network to drop him?
I bet that when the shtf, he will not be around too long.
Go schtuck an intern, @$$hole.
What more do we want this man to do for us, honest to god,
How about: “suiciiiiiiiiiide” ~re: Lantos
It is my sincere prayer that the heart attack will win next time...
I can imagine Letterman losing a lot of viewers that night.
I am surprised! I figured out what this stands for.
B*** him! Why not? He’s screwed the whole country. The same applies to Letterman and Williams. Two leftist turds in the cesspool of the media.
Proving once again...
Letterman is Boring and Stupid.....
I havent watched His Yawner Show for 2 Years Now....
20 years ago Letterman was talented, funny and we loved watching him. He’s turned into a bitter, old fart. I can’t stomach him now.
Yep, about the same experience only about 30 years ago.
He was “must watch TV” for our military midshift about 1981. Once I went overseas and stopped watching him, I found I really didn’t miss him.
Then he turned out to be quite an asshole, I’d say at about the end of Reagan’s term in office.
Why does Brian Williams get a pass? He's a "news" anchor. Real journalists should be mortified to appear so in the tank for a commie bureaucrat.
