Or Louisiana or Mississippi. Pretty much the entire south voted against him and in the north he barely won Ohio, tied in Michigan... He buried the opposition under a mountain of money, nasty attacks and a media love affair.

At least in Michigan the two clowns who voted to change the rules were thrown off the Republican National Committee last week.

The GOP has a serious problem in Mitt Romney. He ran like a liberal in the primary but can’t win like one in the general.

In MAine Romney won the Primary vote by several percentage points over Paul, but then got taken at the causus/determination level and Paul was awarded 21 delegates and Romney only got 4...which was a travesty IMHO because the vote was actually in Romney’s favor, but Paul stacked the determination phase (which most people figure will just play out) and he made off with the Lion’s share of the delegates.

Maine does not have a primary.

Maine has a convention.

Each town’s GOP votes to see who represents them at convention.

These ‘delegates to the state convention nominate and vote for those who will be national delegates to Tampa.

Total delagates : 24

State Chairman is aoutmatic.

National committee man/woman nominated and elected; But will be seated after the November election. (both delegates elected are Ron Paul supporters)

Of the 21 delagates elected 21 are Ron Paul supporters.

Do your homework

So you will be voting for the democrat presidential candidate in November if Mitt gets the republican nomination?

I obviously can't speak for the FReeper you posted that to, but as for myself, if Mitt gets the nom, I will vote on-the-ballot official third party.

Before you retort "Well, that's the same as voting for Obama!" THINK about that fallacy. My vote won't have any affect on the outcome either way in the O vs R contest; it will be entirely neutral.

When the votes are counted, I'm hoping that 62 percent of voters cast their votes AGAINST whichever statist wins, validates and emboldens true conservatives and had-it-with-government Americans, and puts him on the defensive, embattled, weak, and politically vulnerable from the minute the term begins.

Are you going to vote to make the Republican party the one to push government-run health care, on-demand abortion, the one to use government to enforce "global warming" eco-tyranny regulation of energy and food production (look hard at Romney on that one) -- you're voting that the Republican party be the one to back full acceptance of open homosexuality, meaning punishment of people who peacefully reject it -- and you are willing to risk electing a guy who has appointed approximately three times more Democrat liberal judges than Republican conservatives?

So you'll be voting for that?

By the way, b9, thanks for the ping.

So far, Paul seems to have taken the majority of delegates in, at least, 11 or more states,
Sometimes it's the little things that tip you off -- or in this case, confirm for you -- that the writer is soft in the head.

"At least 11 states" MEANS "11 or more states"... so to say "at least 11 or more states" is a weird redundancy that verifies sloppy thinking.

It reminds me of a sign on a discount story in Jersey City:

All items 99 cents or less, and up.

Politics is the art of the possible. One votes for good conservative candidates to get elected to the house and senate. they then hold the president’s feet to the fire.

That DEMs outnumber GOP in MA 4 to 1.

Romney’s GOP judical pick were only outnumber 14 to 9

It seems like his policy of non-partisan judge picking worked pretty well.

Here’s a good jem.

“After Romney nominates the candidate, the pick must be approved by the Governor’s Council, where Democrats hold eight of nine seats.”

And regarding “vote for 3rd party is a vote against” it is true, look at when Ross Perot ran against Bush and Clinton, evaluation of the post election results showed that the majority of those who voted for Perot would have voted for Bush if Perot had not been in the race, since he was , Perot pulled enough votes from Bush to give Clinton the election victory and the presidency. But that may be ancient history to some.

Thank you, John, for the post! I’m all for Paul gumming up the works, frankly. This convention has to mean something after all, and so far the GOPE has NOT got the message.

Here we sit with a socialist at the top of a Republican ticket. Worse, conservatives are going to support this guy.

Well wait and see what they send us next time after we gobbled up this whopper so readily. All of it out of fear of Obama guy.

It will take Democrats to root up this guy and drag him out of the White House because Republicans have turned into pudding supporting a cull that did the same things, but did it first.

I don’t know what the truth is about delegates. I know the RP supporters who are very tenacious are actively trying to take over the GOP at the local and state level. They were successful here in Alaska at taking over and throwing out the long time AK GOP head Randy Ruedrich that even Palin couldn’t unseat in years past. I also heard on the radio a report that Romney had a meeting with RP yesterday........I wonder if he’s trying to tame the RP takeover and reign in delegates.

They say Sarah Palin still has a chance No. She doesn't. She turned hollywood. She became more interested in reality TV than in politics. Think about it -- she served 1/2 term as governor and resigned. She would have to rebuild her political career by running from some state or Congressional seat before ever trying for the big office. Palin still may garner crowds, but so does disgraced and impeached BJ Clinton.

Thank you for your devastating opinion regarding Governor Palin. It is worth thinking about... or not. I am sure this scintillating piece of political insight is worth, oh, like nothing, as you could not be paid for publishing it. But you could put it on toilet paper and sell it as a gag gift over at DU. I foresee a promising future in tabloid journalism, but not on this public forum as too many peope are quite informed so inuendo and selective recall don't sell.
