I support ending Stop and Frisk as well but I don’t see what it has to do with islamophobia. It’s simply unconstitutional.

Assaulting, robbing, and killing people....is unconstitutional as well.

Since this is all a game about statistics...I’d suggest this. Since the folks who benefit from stop-and-frisk are whites (so we are led to believe)....then starting off each morning, a hundred white guys and gals ought to walk up and request a quick stop-and-frisk on the spot, then make sure the statistic is collected.

Once we get the numbers up to a healthy aspect, which is all that matters, then folks have to shut up. The bottom line is that you’d like to walk out of your place in New York City....walk six blocks to do your business...return home, and hope to God that you weren’t assaulted or killed that afternoon.

IOW, you're just fine with stop and frisk if you think it keeps you safe.

Yeesh! You expect anyone on FR to respect your opinion when you lead off with that tripe?

Why not hire more TSA agents and set up checkpoints? I'm sure you'll be very understanding when they feel up your private parts, as well as your family's, when you're out for a walk.

Stomp your feet all you like, it still doesn't help your argument.

Anyone who supports ongoing Fourth Amendment violations in order to supposedly mitigate the results of Second Amendment violations, is still supporting violations of the Constitution.

Very interesting responses! I don't even know what s+f is, precisely, but as these idiotic, rabble-rousing placards were left around after the march, it had to show up in the title. Not sure what the connection between capitalism and s+f is, but apparently Malcolm x followers think there is one. And SEIU weighed in, too, along with some Islamists

I suppose the people of Harlem would be quite beside themselves to find FR types in agreement with them on S+f.

Couldn't agree more.

Once in a while, we find ourselves in agreement with the ACLU. This is one of those times (unless you're a 'security above all else, Constitution be damned' kind of guy like above).

Basically, just being present in public in NYC means you give the NYPD free reign to stop you and frisk you for weapons or anything else illegal.

Now, minorities claim this is racist and they are unfairly targeted. Maybe, maybe not, but I don't care. No one should be subjected to unreasonable search and seizure. The Fourth Amendment reads:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

I don't know what part of the above text pepsionice or Yehuda disagree with, or how they think it doesn't apply to S+F, but I'd love to know.

Do you live in NYC because I do and until all crime is gone I will support stop & frisk any and every time. I’ve lived through the nightmare pre and post Mayor Dinkins and until Giuliani came along and cleaned up this City it was a hell hole for me, my family and friends. When they stop killing innocent people and themselves then and only then should stop and frisk be suspended.

Stop & frisk facts
It’s all about crime — not race

And let me add, while I applaud Bloomberg on his decision to support stop and frisk, the only time I support Bloomberg, he took away my right to defend myself with his anti-gun stance. All the more reason for stop and frisk to continue in NYC.

As bluerose noted, WE LIVE HERE IN NYC, YOU DON'T

Yeah, your northeast isolation shows. However, our founding fathers wrote the Constitution to cover all of America, not 'except major metros.'

Again, you guys must be deaf as door posts: WE PREFER CCL's. But until then, we can live with "reasonable suspicion" based on community FACTS.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Never seen a better application of that than to your post. No thanks, I'll defend the Constitution, in every federal jurisdiction, thank you.

A mandatory curfew would solve a lot of crime too. Why don't we just ban public association after sunset?

Truly understanding the lengths and risks that George Washington and later Abraham Lincoln took to save this God-given republic of ours for generations to come, enabling humans to live in a land where their natural-born rights were not just enabled, but protected, by our government - that, juxtaposed with the beliefs, of conservatives nowadays even, that "your papers, sir?" is a way of life in our nation's most populous city - well, it's heartbreaking.

Yeah, it’s heartbreaking so is frisking white old ladies at airports but when it comes to the protection of myself and family I’ll support whatever it takes.

If you have nothing to hide then you shouldn’t complain. Blacks are killing each other in record numbers and only the intelligent non-liberal blacks see the importance of s&f. Here is a back Minister who supports it and his son was recently frisked:

"Violent crime is a black phenomenon. To say otherwise is to ignore the elephant in the room."

I don't have time to check your link right now, but that sounds like a very, VERY smart man!

I'm well aware of the stats. Blacks are about 13% of the population and commit 50% of the murders. city-data.com has demographics and crime data for nearly every city and town in America.

Crime has been falling just about everywhere since the late 80s and early 90s. Between 2004 (when S&F began in NYC) and 2010, many cities have had as steep or steeper reduction in violent crime as New York.. NYC had a decline in murders from 7.0/100K in 2004 to 6.4/100K in 2010. Two of the cities I looked up, San Francisco and San Diego, had around a 50% decline in the murder rate in the same period. Baltimore's went from 43.5/100K to 34.8/100K.
